The Senior Manager, Procurement, Capital Engineering & Indirect Services position is a key leadership role within the Biotechnology Procurement network. Reporting into the Site Procurement Lead, this position will oversee site operational procurement activities and lead a team responsible for sourcing capital equipment, benchtop equipment, indirect goods, and engineering-related services across the Devens site and broader regional footprint.
The role ensures strong alignment with the Biotechnology manufacturing network strategy, working closely with site leadership, engineering, operations, and global procurement teams to deliver best value, supplier reliability, governance, and operational excellence. The role requires outstanding communication, influential leadership, and a strong ability to partner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Performance, Delivery Excellence & Innovation
- Drive procurement performance at Devens across capital and indirect categories to meet business objectives.
- Deliver positive financial impact through capital savings, cost avoidance, and early payment discounts.
- Lead and support risk assessments for Indirect & Engineering Services; drive completion of Business Continuity Process (BCP) commitments with the global team.
- Support PRAM/TPRM processes and escalation of indirect supply/quality issues.
- Partner with site management and engineering teams to support supplier engagement for construction, operational build-out, and strategic projects.
- Support QMS activities including ASL/AVP enhancement, implementation, and monitoring.
- Contribute to Project Fusion and other strategic programs, as required.
Supplier & Contract Management
- Identify, align, and engage strategic suppliers locally; develop local supplier strategies that complement global SRM priorities.
- Lead supplier relationship management for targeted suppliers, ensuring alignment with global sourcing initiatives.
- Oversee contract creation and management, including LOIs, SOWs, and MSAs.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure governance and compliance.
- Support local implementation of global sourcing projects (e.g., Lab Supplies, PPE) and ensure timely execution of global strategies.
Site Operational Success & Strategic Partnership
- Support site-level priorities including Site Master Plan, Technology Road Map, and sustainability and safety initiatives.
- Build and maintain a site-level indirect project pipeline and provide end-to-end Source-to-Contract support.
- Collaborate with category leads to ensure visibility of value propositions and alignment with site needs.
- Champion procurement engagement early in business decision-making to drive value and compliance.
Data, Tools & Process Excellence
- Understand capital and indirect budgets; identify and prioritize value opportunities.
- Utilize digital tools such as SAP, Ariba, iCertis, Oracle, Sievo, Tableau, and ServiceNow to enhance operational efficiency.
- Promote and expand engagement with the Buying Hub model.
- Support procure‑to‑pay transactions, internal controls, compliance, and permitting activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum education of a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or related field is required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Supply Chain, Engineering Operations, or related disciplines. Experience supporting capital equipment, engineering services, and indirect categories within a manufacturing environment is desired (GMP experience preferred).
- Experience with procurement systems and ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Ariba, iCertis).
- Demonstrated ability to conduct financial analysis, budgeting, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership assessments.
- Familiarity with risk management processes (BCP, PRAM/TPRM), supplier qualification, and procurement governance frameworks.
- Ability to interpret and apply quality, compliance, and audit‑readiness requirements in a regulated environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills with internal partners and external suppliers.
- Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment and manage multiple priorities.

Compensation Overview:
Devens - MA - US: $131,550 - $159,413
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off
- US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)
- Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays
Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.
All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.
*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible.
