BMS is seeking to position a permanent Senior Manager, Procurement, Site Operations position at the Summit West, NJ manufacturing facility. The Site based Sr. Manager will lead the local sourcing efforts for all Direct & Indirect Materials, Service-related activities. Position will also be responsible for leading a cross-site process & procedural alignment exercise to ensure consistency across the drug-substance manufacturing sites. This position will maintain strong alignment to the manufacturing network strategy and initiatives, support the business aligned with Global Procurement Category Leaders and working in close partnership with the site management team, and engage closely with any appropriate sister sites within the GPS network to ensure best value for individual site and network.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Maintain continuity of current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP) Direct material supply for manufacturing operations as well as continuity of current activities, products, and services (Indirect Services as well as Capital/Engineering) by managing local suppliers and engaging directly with site stakeholders as well as global procurement category teams.
- Ensure process and procedural alignment and consistency of application within the Business Units, Procurement, Supply Chain, other Finance/Admin functions to ensure a seamless source to pay business process, while providing a high level of customer service.
- Support implementation of key Indirect projects/policies at site and project manage the executional element of activity. These might include Energy, Contractors, MRO, facilities, Laundered Garments.
- Supporting Supply Chain in P2P program including order confirmations, change requests, material master updates, expedites and RMA’s-and help in analysis of material consumption and monitor supplier deliveries.
- Ensures commercial term alignment with Procurement Category Leaders; pricing, quantity and compliance information related to preferred supplier/vendor and communicates with suppliers and site personnel as needed.
- Achieve and exceed metrics including value beyond savings, purchase price variance (PPV), receipt to promise (RTP), and other relevant KPI’s.
- Lead Supplier Relationship Management programs as requested and aligned with Procurement Category Leads.
- Lead Regional/local sub-category strategy development and execution in conjunction with relevant category lead.
- Lead annual budget process for the site operations, working closely with category leaders, site finance, site supply chain, general management, and GP finance with “right first time” standards.
- Support cGMP or Finance audit activities, as required, and in alignment with site quality and finance operations. Maintains timely control of documents and data to assure accurate retention of records and audit compliance and governance.
- Identifies local suppliers, best practices and ensure local perspective inclusion in larger global procurement initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum education of a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, science or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and/or Planning is required. Experience with direct procurement is preferred.
- Possess exceptional communication skills and be able to communicate to multiple levels within the company and at suppliers.
- Experienced in Oracle/SAP, Fiori and MEB Procurement module.
- Previous experience collaborating cross-functionally and implementing efficiency improvements in ERP systems.
- Procurement skills such as developing relationships with suppliers, expediting, prioritizing, and negotiating deliveries, analyzing and reporting on supplier performance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally as critical member of site team.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent analytic, interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills to successfully establish the new role of procurement within the organization and to meet the procurement needs of the customer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean and Six Sigma experience preferred (ex. yellow, green, blackbelt).
- Additional experience in Supply Chain, MRP Planning, and Inventory modules strongly preferred. Proficiency in other ERP systems may be acceptable.
- Prior cGMP experience in biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and/or medical device industry is highly preferred.
The starting compensation for this job in New Jersey is a range in from $140,760.00 - $170,600.00, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
