How will you make an impact in this role?
Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the global leader in providing payments solutions for small, medium and large businesses. To ensure we keep on the leading edge of the dynamic commercial payments landscape, the GCS Strategy, M&A and Alliances team is charged with defining the long-term business objectives and driving strategic opportunities to accelerate revenue growth. The team plays an integral role in defining, developing, and leading new strategies, inorganic growth (M&A), partnership (Alliances) opportunities, as well as managing Annual Investment Planning, Opex, Strategic Engagement Team to accelerate our overall strategy and vision.
In this role, the Senior Manager, Strategic Planning will represent Amex’s enterprise partnership with Global Business Travel (GBT) in terms of Corporate Development, Board Governance, Financial Forecasts, and compliance requirements while also strengthening the partnership, working across the enterprise to develop new opportunities to create customer and shareholder value, and lead key negotiations as required.
This role requires a dynamic partnership leader with the ability to identify and evaluate new business opportunities using an enterprise lens. The successful candidate brings an ability to lead cross-functional relationships and multiple workstreams with stakeholders in order to define and achieve global partnership goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience leading external relationships
- Knowledge of the payments industry and FinTech trends
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability and comfort synthesizing large amounts of information for senior leadership
- Demonstrates strategic thought leadership and intellectual curiosity to proactively see opportunities, anticipate challenges, and provide solutions
- Comfortable leading multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with initiative, drive, and attention to detail
- Strong cross-functional collaborator across business units
- Critical thinker with the ability to develop a multidimensional action plan that delivers results
- High proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Outstanding relationship-building and influence skills working with internal and external parties, capable of influencing and securing alignment at all levels
- Proven leadership skills, with experience delivering global, cross-functional initiatives
- Ability to work in a matrixed organization and get results through influence
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to achieve successful results while working in a fast-paced environment with white space
- Previous experience working in the travel industry preferred but not required
Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually + bonus + benefits
