The Senior Managing Consultant is a senior leader responsible for directing large-scale workforce productivity and benchmarking engagements, shaping practice strategy, and driving innovation in analytics and advisory services. This role oversees multiple project teams, ensures the highest standards of quality and client value, and serves as a key resource for business development, staff development, and thought leadership. Senior Managing Consultants are expected to demonstrate mastery in technical, analytical, and leadership competencies, and to represent the firm as an expert in the market.
Willing to travel consistently (Up to 80%), depending on project requirements and client expectations, is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee multiple large-scale workforce benchmarking or implementation projects, ensuring exceptional quality and timely delivery.
- Provide oversight of junior staff’s project delivery.
- Develop and present during final presentations.
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced methodologies for data collection, normalization, and analysis.
- Set strategic direction for the workforce practice, identifying opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Evaluate and ensure the quality and reasonableness of results against internal and external benchmarks; audit and correct analyses and presentations of teams.
- Present findings and recommendations to executive-level clients, demonstrating superior communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
- Define project scope, develop work plans, manage budgets, and proactively mitigate project risks.
- Mentor, train, and develop junior and mid-level staff, providing ongoing feedback and career development support; act as a role model for the team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Lead business development initiatives, client relationship management, and firm-wide strategic projects.
- Pursue ongoing professional development, certifications, and active participation in professional communities.
- Represent the firm as an expert in workforce consulting at industry events and in publications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, finance, accounting, statistics, or related field.
- 7–10 years prior direct work experience with workforce productivity, benchmarking, or related consulting.
- Advanced proficiency in data analytics and workforce benchmarking tools.
- Demonstrated senior leadership and project management experience.
- Strong executive communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
- Recognized expertise and certifications in workforce consulting.
Salary Range: $125,000 - $200,000
Job title and compensation to be determined based onqualifications and experience.
Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
