We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Senior Specialist- Fundraising to advance Habitat for Humanity International’s (HFHI) fundraising and donor engagement efforts in Ukraine. This role offers the opportunity to build strong donor relationships, actively manage and grow a donor portfolio, and lead high-quality proposal coordination to secure funding that delivers lasting impact for HFHI Ukraine’s program initiatives.
This position is to be based in Kyiv, Ukraine and requires 30% of domestic and international travel.
The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package. The monthly gross pay starts at 81 830 UAH gross/month (based on previous experience + benefits).
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Grant Acquisition and Proposal Coordination (40%):
- Coordinate proposal development processes in close collaboration with the Head of Program and technical teams.
- Track calls for proposals, manage internal timelines, and support compliance with donor requirements and submission procedures.
- Support pre-bid positioning activities, including partner coordination, stakeholder mapping, and donor alignment.
- Contribute to drafting and editing concept notes, technical narratives, partnership sections, and non-technical annexes.
- Liaise with HFHI global fundraising and compliance teams to ensure quality control and alignment with HFHI standards.
- Support the coordination and quality control of donor reports in collaboration with program, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), and finance colleagues.
- Help ensure donor conditions, visibility requirements, and reporting schedules are well understood and tracked.
- Maintain organized records of donor communications, submissions, contracts, and reporting obligations.
- Support internal learning by documenting lessons from successful and unsuccessful proposals to strengthen future submissions.
- Provide regular updates to the Head of Program on pipeline status, emerging opportunities, and proposal progress.
- Support internal planning discussions by providing donor intelligence and funding landscape insights.
- Contribute to strategic partnership discussions with municipalities, financial institutions, private sector actors, and civil society partners, as relevant.
- Support ad-hoc fundraising-related tasks linked to HFHI Ukraine’s country strategy and priority initiatives.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Project Management, International Development, Business Administration, or equivalent experience in development management.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in fundraising, donor relations, proposal coordination, or resource mobilization (preferably within humanitarian or development contexts)
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English required.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or coordinating successful funding proposals.
- Prior experience in Ukraine or comparable humanitarian / post-conflict settings is a strong asset.
- Strong drafting, editing, and coordination skills, with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and workflows in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including comfort working across teams and time zones.
- Shows strong initiative in engaging potential donors and expanding the donor base.
