POSITION SUMMARY

Reports To: Director Adult/Child and Adolescent Outpatient Services

Supervises: Provides clinical supervision to outpatient therapy staff as delegated by administrative supervisor.

Trainings: Annual, CPI, QPRT, six (6) hours in each designated area of specialty, Heart Saver First Aid CPR/AED

Position Summary:

The senior therapist is responsible for providing direct clinical services to ABH clients and their families. In addition, the senior therapist is responsible for providing clinical leadership as delegated by their administrative supervisor with the unit and as back-up to the assigned unit administrative supervisor. This clinical leadership includes responding to client emergencies and facilitating smooth daily operations at clinical units including arranging staff coverage and facilitating intake staffings in absence of administrative supervisor on site. The senior therapist will also provide individual and group clinical supervision to assigned outpatient therapist staff. While the senior therapist is not responsible for performance evaluations or disciplinary action, senior therapists are involved in providing input to the performance evaluation and disciplinary processes for the therapist staff for whom they have provided clinical and clerical staff who they have interacted with on a daily operations basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct Services -- Provide at minimum 50% face to face direct billable services. In units where the senior therapist provides minimal clinical supervision responsibilities, the requirement for direct billable services may range up to 65% direct face to face.

  • Office Operations -- As delegated by administrative supervisor or as back up to administrative supervisor, ensure daily operations of clinical services. Daily operations would include (but are not limited to) responding to client emergencies or complaints including arranging staff coverage to handle such emergencies, running intake case staffings, ensuring care review process is coordinated in units, facilitating speedy resolution of coordination problems with clerical staff as described below, ensuring all charts are turned in to medical records at the end of each business day by staff, ensuring there is always a person in charge who is covering the unit at all times, and alerting the unit administrative director of any potential problems or situations requiring administrative intervention.
  • Supervision -- As delegated by the administrative supervisor, provide individual and group clinical supervision to assigned outpatient therapist staff at a frequency outlined in ABH policy and procedure.
  • Meetings -- Senior therapists are required to attend service line meetings but do not attend clinical managers meetings.
  • Documentation must be completed within one (1) calendar day of service delivery
  • Productivity goals shall meet % as designated by department
  • Must be able to conduct therapy sessions in the language of the population served, if applicable.

Minimal Qualifications:

Education: Masters degree in behavioral health field.

Licensure: Ph.D, LCSW or LPC in State of New Jersey

Valid NJ driver's license for use of Company Vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

Training and experience in providing clinical supervision.

Equipment Use: Computer, copier, facsimile
