Why This Role Matters
Every service call you schedule directly impacts a customer’s comfort, safety, and ability to keep their home or business running. As the Service Dispatcher, you'll be the central connection between customers, technicians, and operations ensuring deliveries, service calls, and repairs happen efficiently, safely, and on time.
What You'll Do
- Coordinating and scheduling propane and oil service to residential, commercial, and industrial customers
- Managing the daily dispatch operations, assigning jobs, optimizing schedules, managing inventory and billing customers
- Communicating with technicians, providing them with accurate instructions, and addressing any job changes or delays
- Monitoring job progress and maintaining real-time updates of job completion
- Collaborating with customer service, sales, and operations teams to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure seamless service.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all activities
- Utilizing dispatch software and tools to efficiently manage workorders and maintain accurate records
What You'll Actually Do in Your First 30 Days
- Learn the dispatch software, service workflows, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
- Shadow experienced employees and technicians to understand scheduling priorities, routing considerations, and common service scenarios.
- Begin managing a portion of daily work orders while maintaining accurate updates on job status and technician availability.
- Build working relationships with customer service, sales, operations, and field teams to improve communication and issue resolution.
Must Have
- 3+ years of dispatching, service coordination, or related operational experience.
- Working knowledge of propane and oil products, services, and industry practices.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized dispatching systems.
- Ability to prioritize competing service requests and manage multiple active work orders simultaneously.
- Proven customer service and communication skills when interacting with customers, technicians, and internal teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience dispatching technicians in the energy, fuel delivery, HVAC, utilities, or field service industries.
- Experience managing inventory, work order tracking, or customer billing processes.
- Familiarity with route optimization and scheduling software.
- Knowledge of safety regulations applicable to propane and oil service operations.
- High school diploma or GED.

Hourly pay: $25–$30, based on experience
