Simulation Lab CoordinatorCampus Title: Simulation Lab CoordinatorState Job Title: Assistant DirectorDepartment: NursingJob Code: HA6600FLSA Status: ExemptFunding: 7115-0100Bargaining Unit: APAJob Type: Part-Time Permanent / BenefitedTimeframe: 48 WeeksShift: 24 Hours Per Week: Three 8-hour days (flexible depending on dept. needs) to include occasional weekends and eveningsRegular Days Off: Saturday and SundaySupervision Received: The Assistant Director receives general supervision from the Simulation Lab Manager and the Nursing Department Chair.Supervision Exercised: NoneSalary: $42,000 to $45,000 Annually (salary commensurate with education and experience)General Statement of Duties:The Assistant Director, Simulation Lab Coordinator, is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the operation of the nursing simulation lab, including the operation of technology to ensure safe and effective use of the simulation equipment by students to support nursing education.Duties and Responsibilities:Duties include but not limited to:Essential:• Coordinating the use of simulation technology to support student learning and practice.• Coordinating the schedule of lab activities in conjunction with the sim lab director, faculty nursing department chair.• Orienting faculty and students to simulation technology.• Developing and setting up lab instructional modules.• Maintaining and updating lab software and equipment.• Evaluating lab resources and services and preparing reports.• Assist with developing student schedules.• Developing and implementing lab policies and procedures.• Assist in the collection of data that assists with compliance of BORN and CCNE accreditation.• Managing and documenting lab equipment and supply inventory.• Supervising students and student workers in labs.• Assist in recruitment activities, i.e. Accepted Student's Day and Open Houses.• Actively participate in simulation experiences including, but not limited to, operating as voice of the patient or portraying a standardized patient/family member.• Implement new technology recommended by Nursing Department.• Assist with the implementation, running and maintenance of VR.Job Requirements:Required Qualifications:• Master's degree in nursing.• Advanced knowledge of educational technology in nursing education.• Current and unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts (CPR, ACLS, and PALS preferred).• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Qualifications:• CHSE Certification.Additional Information:Salary:Salaries for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining agreements as well as state policies.
