Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Clean building floors and stairs by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
  • Service, clean, and supply restroom
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners such as sponges or squeegees
  • Gather and empty trash and recycling bins
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and other surfaces as required
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
  • Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, and chairs, to prepare facilities for events
  • Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after use or checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
  • Disinfect commonly used items such as door handles and railings
  • Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
  • Follows the proper procedures for the storage and disposal of building site waste
  • Notifies manager concerning the need for repairs to the building operating systems
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, managers, ect.
  • Must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate safety labels on chemical containers
  • Basic understanding of sanitation processes and related equipment.
  • Function as a team member and support other teams
  • Abide by company policies
  • In order to achieve business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:
  • 1-3 year’s experience preferred
  • Experience with janitorial equipment preferred

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, machinery and equipment, and vibration. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. While performing some job duties, there is a risk of electrical shock and other risks associated with a manufacturing environment. Job duties may require work in high, precarious places, work in outside weather conditions, and exposure to extreme temperatures in some cases. The noise level in the working environment is often loud. Because of this environment and associated risks, use of job appropriate personal protective equipment and clothing is required.
