What The Role Is

Reporting to the General Manager, the Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of assigned Solar assets.

This position preferably will be based in the East Coast Region near one of our operating site or office locations. 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee day to day operation of existing assets
  • Establish and maintain strong operational controls, as well as a comprehensive risk management and monitoring framework for assets to ensure safe, effective asset management and compliance with corporate standards, including:
  • Manage the ongoing development/implementation and maintenance of an industry leading Health, Safety and Environmental Management System; and,
  • Manage the ongoing development/implementation and maintenance of an industry leading Maintenance Management System.
  • Promote productivity and teamwork with open communication, timely decision making, and use of leadership skills to set high standards of performance, while providing the direction necessary to achieve performance
  • Create and support an organizational culture that encourages and rewards employee involvement, innovative thinking, adaptation to change, responsible risk taking, customer focus, and continuous improvement
  • Ongoing review of power generation assets to ensure performance optimization, as well as identify opportunities to improve operational performance
  • Optimization of power generation assets with the goal of profit maximization of facilities and correspondingly optimizing commercial values
  • Work closely with Senior Management to ensure compliance with commercial contract commitments, ongoing risk assessments (including potential counterparty risk exposures) and performance management
  • Manage the operational contracts and lead negotiations around contractual changes for existing facilities relating to operational activities and other contractual details as required
  • Represent the Company on management and operating committees for facilities where they are jointly owned with third parties
  • Work closely with Senior Management on key corporate initiatives
  • Ensures that appropriate technical expertise related to assigned area of responsibility is available and provided to constituents in a timely manner
  • Oversee a broad compliment of internal staff and contractors in the management of operations of Solar assets
  • Provide leadership to direct reports in performance of their current roles and in managing their professional growth including setting of goals and objectives, establishing professional development plans and performance monitoring
  • Assist direct reports in providing coaching and guidance to their teams
  • Work closely with Senior Management and Human Resources to optimize staffing levels, hire and retain appropriate individuals and to effectively manage the operations workforce for asset and team growth.
  • Plan for and manage self-performance of the Solar fleet including develop, implement and execute a long-term performance and staffing strategy for self-performance of the Company’s Renewables assets as existing operating contracts expire

What You'll Bring

  • BS in Engineering or other technical 4-year degree or equivalent experience. High school diploma or GED minimally required.
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in senior-level operations management within utility or retail energy industry, which encompassed operations, maintenance, performance reporting and outage management in a large geographically dispersed organization.
  • Specific energy experience from wind, solar, geothermal, gas fired generation or related emerging technologies

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations$140,000—$190,000 USD
