
Solutions Engineer, DNA
Overview
Represents and supports cross functional CU interests in the ongoing development of the core system. Facilitates prioritization and execution of regular cadence of DNA improvements. Engages directly with Fiserv and integrated third parties for discovery and work plan development. Leads the definition of requirements, testing, and implementation of system enhancements. In addition to supporting core systems and integrated platforms, this role contributes to the organization’s AI adoption strategy by identifying opportunities to embed AI into system workflows, data analysis, and operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business units as the technical resource to design, build, test and configure new deposit and loan products, focusing on alignment with strategic goals and initiatives. Work closely with internal stakeholders / lines of business during the design and launch of new products to ensure all key stakeholders are notified at the appropriate time.
- Develops and maintains documentation describing product build and configuration, procedures, testing, changes, and corrections
- Interprets and maintains current working knowledge of the DNA system as the technical resource, performing all DNA configurations of new products and new DNA apps that support or enhance product functionality.
- Analyzes the functionality of DNA and custom applications to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Reviews DNA release documentation to determine potential impact, recommends features to adopt to business units, and maintains and updates DNA setups and configurations for each subsequent DNA release.
- Consults with department managers and division leadership to identify systemic and procedural opportunities to increase efficiency in the core operations of the credit union.
- Leads the assessment of scope, resource requirements, and return on investment to support prioritization of development efforts in alignment with broader DNA roadmap and strategy.
- Work with developers and database administrators to coordinate projects utilizing agile methodology.
- Troubleshoot DNA system issues related to loan, deposit and DNA app functionality.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgement in the development of detailed specifications to support specific business needs while considering impacts to other departments and member/staff experience.
- Collaborates cross functionally to execute project and change management to meet both short- and long-term business objectives.
- Mitigates roadblocks in achieving development goals while working closely with internal and external technical resources.
- Tests solutions effectively utilizing industry standard analysis methods.
- Represents the credit union working directly with software vendors to formulate design decisions and implement configuration that impacts operating procedures.
- Serves as DNA ambassador, sharing knowledge, answering questions, and proactively recommending improvements.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to evaluate AI use cases and integrate AI tools into system configurations and enhancements.
- Support the implementation of AI-driven features in core systems, including testing, documentation, and performance monitoring.
- Analyze system data to identify opportunities for predictive analytics, automation, and intelligent decision support.
- Stay informed on AI trends and tools relevant to core banking and enterprise systems.
Additional Position Responsibilities

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Proficiency with DNA financial banking core system. Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their application in systems analysis or financial services.
- Experience with AI-enhanced platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, chatbots, or predictive analytics tools) is a plus.
- Ability to translate business needs into AI-supported system configurations and enhancements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ Years of direct business line experience with credit union back-office operations (Required)
- 4 Year/bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of bachelor's)
