Summary/Objective:
The Advancement Services Data Specialist serves as a strategic partner to the Advancement department by optimizing data system capabilities and providing proactive and intuitive support to all teams.
This position is represented by a union.
Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Maintain Salesforce CRM integrity and daily processes in partnership with the Senior Specialist to ensure operational efficiency and data precision.
  • Collaborate across teams to build and distribute comprehensive data-driven reports, tracking campaigns, trends, donor engagement, and overall fundraising progress.
  • Create and maintain sophisticated stewardship dashboards to drive the efforts of Membership, Corporate, Grants, and Individual Giving teams.
  • Partner with the Membership team to manage lifecycle reporting, including renewals, transactional data, and segmented mailing and suppression lists.
  • Establish and manage database standard guides, including formal policies, procedures, and information management best practices.
  • Lead and facilitate Salesforce training sessions for the Advancement department to ensure team-wide proficiency while serving as the primary resource for ongoing training and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor Salesforce seasonal releases and database trends to proactively identify, evaluate, and implement system enhancements that drive department efficiency.
  • Assist with Advancement activities and events as needed.

Required Competencies:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an advancement role.
  • Advanced proficiency with donor management software, preferably Salesforce NPSP.
  • Experience in database reporting, data visualization, and data analysis.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to successfully coordinate projects, deadlines, and priorities independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and data interpretation skills.
  • Strong presentation and training skills.
  • Highest degree of professionalism and discretion in dealing with donor information.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in a non-profit or an arts and culture institution strongly desired.
