Summary/Objective:

The Airtable Integration Specialist will be responsible for maintaining, updating, and modifying the Oral History Project’s (OHP) proprietary codebase that is used to integrate workflows between the Airtable and Jira platforms.


Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Update Airtable API keys, authorization, and configuration
    • Convert from deprecated individual API keys to personal access tokens.
    • Update the configuration structure.
  • Update Airtable API client library to pyAirtable v3.x
    • Use the Migration Guide to update direct API calls.
    • Update send() and find() functions for maximum performance and versatility, including checks for single search results, error handling.
    • Update base, table, and record methods as appropriate.
  • Conversion from microservices to an installable Python module
    • Ensure Flake8 passing and set up Tox and GitHub actions to ensure viability in different environments.
    • Set package structure and update dependencies.
  • Ensure functionality for Jira
    • Update Jira à Airtable sync methods.
    • Ensure backlog of unsynchronized tasks is processed and represented correctly in Airtable.
  • Ensure functionality for Excel transcripts uploaded to Airtable
    • Update ExcelàAirtable sync methods.
    • Ensure backlog of unloaded transcripts is processed and represented correctly in Airtable.

Required Competencies:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Information or similar.
  • At least 3 years or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Python programming/coding language.
  • Proficient understanding of Jira, Confluence, and Airtable platforms.
  • Fundamental knowledge of IT infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master of Science in Information or similar.
  • Familiarity with the Oral History Projects’ workflows and protocols.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid schedule: standard office environment with flexibility to work from home.

Compensation: The expected salary for this role is $75.00 per hour. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
