Sr. Analyst Business Systems, HSBC Technology & Services (USA) Inc., Depew, NY:

The Senior System Analyst job is responsible for working across the Technology delivery lifecycle including inception, construction, testing, release and ongoing management of a product or service in a pod within the Data and Enterprise Reporting team. Design, develop and implement business systems or complete specialty functions of medium to high risk. Provide technical support for varied technologies, architectures and related projects. Coordinate and completes projects according to plan when assigned. Apply technology to business issues to increase revenue, avoid cost, improve service and achieve goals. Responsible for supporting applications systems including applications development, business analysis, research and development, and systems integration for business systems. End-to-end accountability for a product or service, identifying and developing the most appropriate Technology solutions to meet customer needs as part of the Customer Journey. Liaise with other engineers, architects and business stakeholders, to understand and drive the product or service's direction. Create technical test plans and records, including unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality. Provide support to DevOps teams working at all stages of a product or service release/change with a strong customer focus and end-to-end journeys, ensuring they have an excellent domain knowledge. Working with Ops, Dev and Test Engineers to ensure operational issues (performance, operator intervention, alerting, design defect related issues, etc.) are identified and addressed at all stages of a product or service release/change. Provide support in identification and resolution of all incidents associated with the IT service, as directed by leadership of the DevOps team. Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered. Responsible for automating the continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement. Responsible for adhering to US Regulations relating to Dodd Frank, Basel 3, CCAR, RWA, and Regulation W. Establishing effective project controls, procedures and quality assurance processes.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, Pay range: $117,404 to $152,500 per year;

Requirements

Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Science, Information Technology or a related field and at least 10 years of progressive post baccalaureate related work experience.

 
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Science, Information Technology or a related field and at least 8 years of related work experience.

Qualifying experience must include:

•               Application development and support;

•               Senior subject matter application expert;

•               Managing IT development teams and IT projects;

•               Understanding and knowledge of the US Regulatory Reporting domain and Wholesale Credit Risk ;

•               Expertise in architecting, developing highly performant and scalable web applications using Spring Boot, SpringBoot2.0, Spring MVC, Microservice (SOA) Architecture;

•               Expertise in J2EE application server technologies includes Tomcat, Apache Web server and IBM Websphere;

•               Successful delivery of business objectives, tracking progress to ensure project milestones were completed on time, on budget and with the desired results;

•               US Regulations including CCAR, Basel 3, Dodd Frank, RWA, and Regulation W; and

•               Credit Risk Applications including risk metric model development.

Qualifying experience must include at least 5 years of experience in:

•               Implementing software utilizing methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall;

•               Experience with ETL technologies (DataStage / Genome);

•               Experience with BigData frameworks such as Hadoop and Spark;

•               Expertise in disaster recovery and disaster recovery planning (DRP);

•               Creating detailed Project Road maps, plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures;

•               Managing change, including risk assessment and risk controls;

•               Experience with Google cloud technologies.

•               Application production support and ITSM processes;

•               Microservice development and Web based Java application development experience;

•               Multi-platform applications, including Mainframe, ETL(DataStage);

•               Leading teams across broad technical, financial, and business disciplines;

•               Successful delivery of business objectives, tracking progress to ensure project milestones were completed on time, on budget and with the desired results;

•               Creating detailed Project Road maps, plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures;

•               Managing change, including risk assessment and risk controls;

•               Senior management reporting skills with the ability to report to multiple forums in various formats, such as Confluence, Clarity, JIRA, as well as publishing presentations;

•               Experience with DevOps tooling for code packaging and deployments; and

•               RDBMS and NOSQL database experience.
