Job Description
American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the leading payments issuer and partner for businesses of all sizes. The Global Commercial Services Marketing team (GCSM) is responsible for making business membership essential—delivering world-class marketing that drives demand and deepens customer engagement across the customer lifecycle.
To support GCSM’s continued evolution, we are establishing a Strategic Planning & Operations function to enable faster, more strategic, and more impactful marketing across the enterprise. This team will drive disciplined prioritization, increase transparency, and accelerate decision-making across GCSM.
How will you make an impact in this role?
As a Senior Analyst, Strategic Planning & Operations, you will support the planning, governance, and operational processes that enable effective decision-making across GCSM. You will play an important role in helping the team bring greater visibility, structure, and consistency to how marketing initiatives are prioritized, planned, and tracked.
This role is ideal for a highly organized, analytical, and collaborative professional who enjoys solving problems, working across teams, and turning complex information into actionable insights. You will partner with stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Technology, and ECMX to support planning activities, prepare leadership materials, and drive operational excellence.
Through thoughtful analysis and strong execution, you will help ensure GCSM can effectively align resources, manage priorities, and deliver meaningful business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Support planning and prioritization activities across GCSM by gathering, organizing, and maintaining information on key initiatives
- Assist in managing centralized intake and tracking processes to improve visibility into marketing priorities and dependencies
- Analyze and identify trends, risks, opportunities, and resource considerations
- Develop presentations that provide stakeholders with clear visibility into priorities, progress, and outcomes
- Support governance forums by coordinating agendas, preparing materials, documenting decisions, and tracking action items
- Partner with cross-functional teams to collect information, align on timelines, and ensure planning processes run smoothly
- Help maintain marketing roadmaps, prioritization frameworks, and planning documentation
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and research to support strategic recommendations and business decisions
- Support the preparation of executive communications and leadership updates
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across the organization
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and communicate findings clearly
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to execute with accuracy and consistency
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively across teams
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, with experience developing presentations
- Self-motivated with a proactive mindset and willingness to learn
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and adapting to evolving business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant business experience preferred
- Experience in strategy, operations, marketing, consulting, project management, or related fields
- Familiarity with marketing organizations, go-to-market processes, or marketing technology ecosystems a plus

The below represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
Salary range
- $78,000 - $124,750 per year
