Reporting to the Executive Director of Portfolio Strategy, the Sr Director of Cell Therapy Portfolio Strategy will be responsible to provide medical leadership for CT franchise strategy and worldwide execution of medical activities for the Worldwide Medical Franchises in collaboration with the WW Medical Hematology matrix.

Success in this role will lead to more effective, repeatable and measurable product adoption and product launches particularly through referral and community strategies, directly benefiting availability to patients and improving business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This key role will be the strategic and operational partner to the Cell therapy Medical Leadership Team and all designated asset leaders. As such, it is critical that they can effectively and efficiently collaborate with/advise both their operating partner and other leaders in the organization to evaluate, assess, design, enhance and develop long and short-term strategies (1-5 years).
  • The individual in this role must be able to monitor and assess external trends to inform and educate stakeholders and stay abreast of macro trends in the healthcare environment, therapeutic area market and brand business drivers. A critical aspect of this role is the ability to work seamlessly across the BMS enterprise (both within and outside Medical and form a strong partnership with commercial) and coordinate the input of stakeholders on topics with franchise-wide impact through external engagement, thought partnership, and establishment of strategic partnerships with KOLs and organizations/professional societies of the highest order.
  • The individual must understand the impact of our medicines on patient factors, engaging deeply and gathering insights to guide development decisions, target product profile creation, and commercialization strategy that best meets the needs of our patients.
  • The individual will be overseeing the generation of internal and external communication documents and their dissemination related to various aspects of pan-CAR T topics such as i.e. health authority notifications, REMS and RMP requirements.
  • She/he will be leading all efforts related to the external cell therapy scientific steering committee.
  • She/he must be able to drive the successful delivery of project and portfolio objectives by ensuring effective stakeholder management, alignment and business engagement, and provide guidance to colleagues and business leaders to improve project outcomes and remove barriers to successful execution.
  • The incumbent will leverage capabilities and expertise within the broader Medical organization to drive business objectives, resolve business issues, and optimize opportunities particularly related to above asset topics for cell therapy as a platform.
  • Lead the strategy for Professional Societies and External Engagement for key centers around the globe to execute on key initiatives including pipeline acceleration efforts, clinical trial recruitment and scientific collaboration. Lead portfolio level strategic initiatives such as global advisory boards/engagements with KOLs to drive insights shaping Portfolio Strategic Plans
  • Manage a team of experts in executing the above book of work
  • She/he will represent CT Medical (WW and US) as needed, serving as a therapeutic area expert in Cell Therapy products.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree, preferable with clinical, research and/or industry experience in cellular therapy and Hematology/Oncology.
  • A minimum of 10+ years academic/industry experience strongly preferred. Experience working across a range of Medical and/or clinical development roles a plus
  • Seeking balanced combination of scientific and business acumen
  • Demonstrated strength in understanding overarching company goals, performing strategic assessments, and developing clearly framed choices and recommendations
  • Expertise in cellular therapy/hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and/or hematological malignancies is a strong plus, ability to grow into new therapeutic areas quickly.
  • Demonstrate clinical management knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and solid experience in translating medical/clinical information into medical affairs strategies.
  • Proficiency in critical data review and interpretation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentations to large groups, facilitation of interactive discussions, and 1:1 discussions with thought leaders.
  • Demonstrated customer focus orientation and credibility with customers.
  • Knowledge/application of data sources, reports and tools for the creation of solid plans.
  • US or global experience preferred
  • Experience in project and/or portfolio management with the ability to develop clear action plans and execute
  • Ability to build relationships, influence and drive organizational engagement at all levels
  • Ability to lead strategically, drive performance, build alignment, negotiate and collaborate
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of effective people management including coaching, motivating and development planning in a multicultural environment.
  • Regular travel will be required ( approx. 20%).
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and problem solving skills.
