The Sr. International Product Manager (IPM), MRD is responsible for developing the global market and product strategy ensuring optimal in-market performance of FMIs MRD products and solutions As a member of the International Business Team (IBT), this position is responsible for maintaining deep subject matter expertise in MRD. As a MRD SME, the Sr IPM contributes to, and is responsible for, all core elements of their product marketing strategy incl. market understanding, competitive intelligence, developing new target product profiles, brand management clear positioning, commercial team launch support and on market support. In addition, as a senior member of the IBT, the Sr. IPM supports the development and education of other IPMs within the Product Organization and acts as the business representative within Project Teams. As a partner to the Project Leader, the Sr. IPM acts as a facilitator and integrator across all stakeholders to ensure our product development projects are delivered in scope, time and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • E2E responsibility & accountability of the systematic commercial development of product(s) from development, launch preparation, launch execution, on-market support and obsolescence.
  • Responsible for the development of the global product strategy of MRD and ensuring its integration into FMIs overall portfolio strategy.
  • Represent the voice of the customer in the product development process and engage with the US, International and Biopharma commercial teams to maintain a strong understanding of customer needs across each of our global markets.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for all products in assigned area and maintain a deep understanding of the diagnostic market, competition, customer needs, technology developments and the evolution of medical practice and management guidelines.
  • Monitor and synthesize MRD clinical guidelines, practice patterns, and evolving standards of care (including therapeutic areas where MRD is emerging as a decision-driving endpoint) to inform product requirements, and market development plans.
  • Gather, refine, analyze and prioritize product requirements from existing and potential customers across all markets and identifies portfolio gaps.
  • Define MRD value proposition, positioning, and key product messaging; partner with Medical/Clinical Development to co-create evidence generation plans (e.g., clinical validation, utility, health economics, and real-world evidence) that support adoption, reimbursement, and biopharma partnerships.
  • Define segmentation characteristics, constructing business models and establishing and monitoring key metrics that define business success of FMIs portfolio.
  • Provide on-market product support (e.g. complaints / quality issues) and provides guidance to the commercial organizations.
  • Work with Finance, commercial teams, and Project Leaders to develop robust and consistent analyses and business cases to inform new product development, product and service improvements, and strategic recommendations.
  • Work with Project Leaders and International Business Leaders to inform budgeting decisions.
  • Lead preparation and present new product, solution or improvement opportunities to senior leadership and the Portfolio Development Committee (PDC).
  • Partner closely with marketing teams to implement go-to-market strategies and tactical plans.
  • Translate competitive intelligence into meaningful insights and actions for commercial teams.
  • Create relationships and strategic partnerships with key opinion leaders and other stakeholders to execute critical product & business initiatives.
  • Travel domesticallyand internationallyup to50% of the time.
  • Other projects as periodically assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 12+ years experience in the diagnostic, pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • 5+ years experience within Global Marketing, Lifecycle Management or similar function

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration, Master of Science, PhD, PharmD, MD, or other advanced degree
  • 15+ years of work experience in product marketing, preferably within medical device or diagnostics; oncology experience within medical device or diagnostics
  • MRD-specific experience in oncology diagnostics, clinical development, medical affairs, or biopharma partnerships, including familiarity with MRD clinical use cases and evidence expectations
  • Experience with NGS and ctDNA-based assays and comfort discussing assay performance concepts (e.g., sensitivity, specificity, limit of detection) with clinical and commercial audiences
  • International marketing or product strategy and/or product or diagnostic sales experience
  • Direct product launch experience including regulatory, access, marketing, and sales
  • Sales experience and a deep understanding of the oncology end-to-end marketplace
  • Strong understanding of regulatory space: FDA, CLIA, IVDR, PMDA, etc
  • Strong understanding of US insurance and payor landscape
  • Ability to lead, problem solve and take decisions with a high degree of autonomy through self-solutioning, experimentation and peer co-creation
  • Demonstrated strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Boston, MA is $185,000 - $217,700 per year. The salary range is commensurate with Foundation Medicines compensation practice and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for Foundation Medicine's benefits.
