Summary of Position

Lionsgate is seeking a Sr. Manager, HR Business Partner, Production to provide strategic Human Resources support for the Company’s slate of film and television productions. Reporting to the SVP, HR Business Partner, the role partners with a variety of stakeholders including, production executives, show leadership, and all cast and crew. This is an exciting opportunity to redefine strategic HR partnerships with Lionsgate’s production teams and to spearhead broader production-based HR initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR Business Partner for Lionsgate’s Television and Motion Picture productions, regularly traveling to productions and providing advice, coaching, and counseling to Heads of Department (HODs), cast, and crew
  • Manage production employee relations matters, fielding and investigating reports of conflict, harassment, bullying, discrimination, code of conduct violations, and performance-related issues
  • Partner with the SVP, HR Business Partner, Employment Legal, Labor Relations and Production leadership teams to recommend solutions and determine investigatory outcomes
  • Manage employee relations-related documentation, including confidential storage of digital files and Lionsgate’s case management platform
  • Manage ongoing optimization of case management platform, leveraging data to identify and report on employee relations trends
  • Manage and facilitate Harassment Prevention and Heads of Department (HOD) Training, continually enhancing content for writers’ rooms and all production cast and crew
  • Manage all Human Resources-owned documents for productions, ensuring easy access to current code of conduct, policies, production trackers, memos, crew lists, and HR film and television assignments
  • Provide recommendations for systems and process improvements, inclusive of proactive and preventative measures, such as additional or targeted training
  • Field and manage accommodation requests, regularly engaging in the interactive process and ensuring compliance
  • Manage background screening process for productions, supporting adjudication and providing recommendations as needed
  • Participate in broader production-related HR projects as requested

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5-6 years of related experience managing employee relations matters and partnering with union and non-union production-based employees
  • Must have a passion for employee relations and strategic HR partnerships with corporate and production employees and executives
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and an ability to regularly resolve employee relations issues
  • Adept knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws and business best practices
  • Proven interpersonal, relationship-building, and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent problem solving, project management, and presentation skills
  • Solid organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Must have good judgment and decision-making skills, and a strong ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Self-starter, with an ability to own issues and initiatives from beginning to end
  • Must be willing and able to travel to production locations including but not limited to New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Vancouver, and Toronto, as often as one to two times per month

Nice to Haves

  • Previous experience managing employee relations matters for film and television productions or for workforces in manufacturing
  • Experience supporting union-based populations and knowledge of entertainment guild practices
  • (IATSE, SAG, WGA, Teamsters)
  • Familiarity with Success Factors, Airtable, First Advantage, Labor Soft, Mineral, and Box

Compensation

$115,000 - $135,000
