Position Summary

The Sr. Procurement Manager will lead the sourcing and operational procurement initiatives, and will be responsible for defining and implementing the sourcing strategies and procurement activities for the Marketing and Commercial Categories. The objective of this role is to ensure an efficient, effective, and continuous supply of items and services for Proximo and to support the design and implementation of the most appropriate sourcing solution through negotiation and contracting processes, constantly investigating opportunities to improve our cost base in a sustainable way.

Under the guidance of the Procurement Director and Finance, this position will play a critical role in implementing business solutions and best practices in support of the Marketing and Commercial teams with our collective ambitions to secure, negotiate and manage contract vendors activities including but not limited to experiential, meeting & entertainment, consumer promotions, agencies, sponsorships, creative development and celebrity/influencer world.

Role & Responsibilities

Procurement & Spend Management

  • Manage procurement for marketing and commercial activations, events, and sponsorships, ensuring optimal contract terms and ROI.
  • Oversee procurement for non-media marketing categories, including creative & digital, PR, influencer marketing, experiential marketing, packaging design, and trade marketing (sampling & BTL agency, and consumer promotions).
  • Oversee procurement for commercial categories, including execution agencies, BTL events, local sales POS, sales enablement platforms, and incentives.
  • Lead negotiations with key event organizers, festival promoters, and sponsorship partners to maximize brand exposure while optimizing costs.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with vendors, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) and performance metrics are met.

Strategic Sourcing & Contract Management

  • Drive cost savings initiatives and productivity improvements across marketing and commercial categories to support business growth and financial objectives.
  • Lead RFP and RFQ processes for marketing & commercial vendors, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and best-in-class supplier selection.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, renewals, and governance policies to mitigate financial risk and ensure compliance.
  • Develop, draft, or use a legal agreement template established by the legal department to enable legal agreement implementation with suppliers for managed spend within relevant authority levels (as defined by Procurement Policy) on Statement of Work (SOW) volumes, price, quality, delivery, and other conditions, liabilities, responsibilities, and service levels.
  • Evaluate and negotiate (SOWs) to ensure optimal value, clarity of deliverables, and alignment with business priorities
  • Ensure agencies and vendors execute according to agreed-upon SOW terms and deliver expected outcomes, on time and within budget
  • Establish procurement governance standards for agency and vendor engagement, spend tracking, and performance monitoring
  • Implement processes to ensure transparency, budget accountability, and risk mitigation across marketing and commercial spends
  • Support vendor scorecarding, performance reviews, and contract renewal decision-making with data-driven insights
  • Collaborate with internal marketing and commercial teams to identify emerging trends and implement strategic procurement best practices.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Identify and execute savings opportunities within marketing and commercial procurement to drive P&L improvements.
  • Track and report procurement performance metrics, ensuring alignment with marketing, commercial, and finance objectives.
  • Work closely with finance teams to forecast and manage marketing and commercial spend, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals.

Innovation

  • Lead the procurement process in providing solutions to fulfil needs for new services/product developments
  • Proactively provide insights on market trends, industry development, and organize supplier presentations, and ensure follow-up on the agreed action plans.
  • Bring efficiencies through the use of technology in the form of AI to streamline resources across agencies and vendors where possible.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably within the Wine & Spirits, FMCG, or Luxury Goods industry.
  • Strong knowledge in negotiating marketing and commercial procurement categories, including ATL/BTL agency focusing on events, sponsorships, activations, creative services, commercial POS, etc.
  • Proven experience leading contract negotiations, agency management, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets and identify financial efficiencies.
  • Experience with RFP/RFQ processes, contract governance, three-bid process, and vendor performance management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across marketing, finance, and operations teams.
  • Familiarity with procurement trends, pricing models, and best practices in marketing and commercial spend management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with event promoters, sponsorship agencies, and marketing vendors.
  • Strong network within the wine, spirits, and beverage industries.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and procurement software for tracking and managing supplier relationships.

The salary range for this role is a base salary of $122,300 - $163,100 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, and medical and wellness benefits. The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience and skill set against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
