This entry-level position will learn and develop skills necessary to assist other Infrastructure Operations staff in the performance of their duties. Typical activities include, but are not limited to, the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment and fiber/copper cabling to support the 24/7 operation of telecommunications services for all University and UK HealthCare departments. Training in competencies and skills is provided through on-the-job, classroom, and related industry programs. Ideal candidates will possess a strong work ethic, a commitment to service, and a focus on continuous improvement in a professional environment.Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesBasic Math and Science. Distinguish between different colors. Manual dexterity to complete fine motor tasks. Climb ladders. Basic reading and writing. Basic knowledge of ethernet and/or fiber troubleshooting procedures.
