Job Description:
Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Lead Stock Room Attendant/Driver is responsible to setup, deliver, pick up, clean up, and put away deliveries received.
The incumbent is also responsible to receive inventories, store all products and equipment as per department guidelines and policies, and assist with cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of the storeroom, delivery vehicles, and all catering materials.
Events Management
Assist with the setup of special events or additional kitchen spaces.
Gather food and non-food items for all events and/or functions in a timely manner.
Inventory Management
Complete the weekly food and dry storage inventory.
Properly store foods in designated areas in accordance with RI Food Code and/or policies set forth by the RI Department of Health.
Accept and receive all items/products from other departments and vendors in accordance with department policy.
Prepare and set up for all deliveries that may occur on incumbent's day off and inform management of the status before shift ends.
Pick up or arrange for the pickup of all deliveries made, including filling out the delivery and pick up log and notifying management of the log status.
Weigh boxes and coordinate with management to ensure that any outside errors have been accounted for and prevented, where applicable.
Check all invoices against the product delivered to ensure that the University is receiving everything invoiced.
Report shortages of deliveries, stock, and inventory to supervisor on duty.
Check that excess products are returned and alert management when necessary products are not delivered or invoiced.
Assist with back dock organization and proper trash & waste receptacle treatment.
Ensure that product is stored neatly on shelves for easy counting and ordering as well as proper rotation of product to minimize waste.
Assist management with various inventories, as requested.
Staff Management
Delegate work to subordinate employees to ensure that all responsibilities are completed on a daily basis.
Cleaning and Sanitation
Oversee and maintain cleanliness throughout the relevant areas of the department, including the loading dock, walk-in coolers, and storerooms.
Clean and organize all storerooms, coolers, freezer floors, and mobile refrigerators.
Comply with all sanitation, ServSafe, and safety requirements.
Wear a clean and proper uniform at all times and have a clean and proper physical appearance.
Additional Functions
Maintain department golf cart and truck, and alert management to any mechanical problems.
Attend employee training sessions, as required.
Utilize all Personal Protective Equipment's per Dining's guidelines.
$500 signing bonus after 4-month satisfactory probationary period is completed.

Job Requirements:
Ability to use time keeping system to properly record time worked for payroll processing.
Ability to follow instructions from multiple managers, chefs, and supervisors.
Ability to work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments and function efficiently.
Ability to meet unit-specific uniform standards for this position.
Valid Driver's License with no violations and willingness to submit to a motor vehicle record check.
Ability to safely operate a large catering truck and vehicles that are DOT rated.
Valid DOT medical card or certification.
Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as required, and understand that work hours may be limited during spring and winter breaks as well as during the summer.
Ability to follow all Dining health and safety standards and requirements.
Perform quality work within deadlines, with or without direct supervision.
Ability to interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
Ability to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
Inventory/stock room experience.
