Fidelity TalentSource is your destination for discovering your next temporary role at Fidelity Investments. We are currently sourcing for aStorage/Linux Administrator to work in Fidelity’s Enterprise Infrastructure Group in Westlake TX.The Team
This position as Storage/Linux Administrator sits in Distributed Compute Operations team and it will be responsible to support critical function i.e. Storage & Linux Operations in Enterprise Infrastructure & Operations(EI&O) including but not limited to, Incident Management support, Change execution with a focus on delivering stability, day-to-day operations & contributing to several operations KPIs and Metrics.
In this role, you will work with senior technology folks, your peers on other operations teams and representing Distributed Compute and Storage(DCS) on Incident calls and will also be working with teams out of our India offices on day-to-day.
As Operations member of this team you will continue to evaluate and find opportunities to automate, promote DevOps and EngOps work. You will be leading managing various Storage arrays of File, object & block and supporting day-to-day Linux and Unix sys administration tasks The position will work 10 hours, 4 days a week, Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday
The Expertise You Have
- 5+ years’ experience in IT across a broad range of technologies, with specific experience for few years in working in server and storage infrastructure technologies
- Working knowledge of storage subsystems and SAN/NAS/CAS Infrastructure is a must (e.g. Pure and Infinidat arrays)
- Knowledge on Commvault Backup software (preferred) or any backup software is must
- Good working knowledge on SAN switches
- Knowledge of any NAS product (NetApp)
- Knowledge on Hyper-converged Environment
- Knowledge on Linux, primarily Redhat Linux 7, 8 and 9
- Day to day Linux system admin activities
- Disk storage management
- Oncall coverage experience
- Troubleshooting skills on OS, hardware and storage issues to have a end-to-end view on infrastructure
- Experience driving Incident calls and working with Enterprise level customers and app teams
The Skills that are Good to Have for this role
- Knowledge of hypervisor technologies such as Openstack, VMWare & OLVM(Oracle Hypervisor) flavor is a huge plus
- Knowledge on any scripting languages.
- Basic knowledge on Cloud technology.
- Experience with Veritas products like Storage Foundation/Veritas Cluster Server is a plus
- Experience in working with Storage & Server Operations & Infrastructure team
- Expert in driving the crisis / high severity incident calls
- Expert in Agile methodology & IT Service Management
- Good understanding of storage & server infrastructure tech stack (Storage arrays, Commvault , NAS, Brocade switches, Servers, Linux, Clustering, ). Experience in Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM) is a huge plus
- Identify gaps and process improvements to enhance the stability of the environment
- Collaborating with various storage/Server vendors (IBM, Infinidat, Redhat, HP, Dell, IBM AIX etc.) on RCA’s and implementing the solution
- Seek out & share new ideas, approaches & industry insights towards automation & stability in infrastructure domain, self-service & self-healing
- Communicate, Collaborate and build relationships with partners and key stakeholders including engineering and other operations leaders. We strive to be fastest to deliver and easiest to consume technology services.
The Value You Deliver
Job responsibilities include:
- You will engage in multiple Storage & server day to day tasks, including conducting complex operational support Responsible for Incident, change, release & problem management process
- Drive project-based work as needed (Customer requests, Migrations, Patching & Compliance, code upgrades etc)
- Drive and contribute on Incident calls to mitigate and resolve the issue; provide updates to management
- Drive issues on hardware, configurations, performance tuning, to resolution
- Identify & prioritize opportunities for automation, enhancement of existing automation and improving stability across the infrastructure components in partnership with DCS Agile team leaders as well as key stakeholders
- Be very comfortable with ITSM processes and perform the job role under ITSM and other company policies
