We’re looking for compassionate, reliable, and experienced individuals who enjoy working with children to join our thriving school age child care program as group leaders. In addition to our school age group, we also operate preschool age groups in two of our after school programs. Our team collaborates to provide programs that foster a child’s social emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. To succeed in this position, you should be patient, enthusiastic, fun-loving, and enjoy spending time with children.

Age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma/GED or equivalent. This is a part-time position with hours available Monday through Friday from approximately 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Candidates must commit to at least 2 shifts per week. Up to 20 hours per week are available in this particular role. Additional hours can be worked in other departments.

Staff are not guaranteed to work at a specific site. Site assignments are at the discretion of the hiring managers.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The YMCA of Central Kentucky’s part-time After School Group Leader provides direct supervision of children and is responsible for the successful implementation of quality after school care. The group leader promotes and supports the potential of all youth in programs and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall experience. Group Leaders assist the Site Director in the implementation a culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate curriculum that creates a positive and nurturing environment.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
