Are you a dynamic and visionary leader with a passion for driving growth and creating a positive impact? We’re looking for a Student Health Center (SHC) Operations Program Supervisor to join our team and help shape the future of our program.
SHC is a unit within Multnomah County’s Community Health Center. The program provides primary care health care in 9 SHCs in coordination with five school districts: David Douglas, Parkrose, Centennial, Reynolds, and Portland Public Schools, and the Behavioral Health division’s School Based Mental Health program.
As the SHC Operations Program Supervisor, you will be the driving force behind our daily operations. You'll be responsible for everything from ensuring our patients receive high-quality, affordable care to managing the behind-the-scenes activities like scheduling, quality control, and facilities.
You'll also play a key role in developing a strategy for future growth and financial sustainability, all while making sure our work aligns with our mission and vision.
As the SHC Operations Program Supervisor, in consultation with the SHC and Primary Care leadership, your duties include:
- Leadership & Strategic Management: You will direct operational activities, including setting policy and priorities, managing resources, and ensuring operations align with organizational goals. This includes leading your team, exploring solutions to complex problems, and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
- Operational Excellence & Business Acumen:You will be responsible for the efficient and effective execution of program operations, analyzing data to make informed decisions and manage risks. You will also serve as a role model, embodying the program's values and fostering a culture of professional development, collaboration, and exceptional customer service.
- Fiscal Management and Strategy: You will assist the program manager to oversee the financial health of the program, including monitoring financial performance, managing the budget, and taking corrective action as needed. This includes finding new revenue streams, exploring business opportunities, and developing plans to ensure the program's long-term financial viability.
- Team Leadership and Development: You'll be responsible for managing a high-performing team. This includes hiring, supervising, coaching, and evaluating staff performance, as well as fostering a supportive culture that encourages professional growth and holds team members accountable.
- Human Resources & Diversity Management: You will collaborate with Human Resources on licensing and certifications, and you will proactively manage staffing levels and employee morale. A key part of your role will be to champion diversity and inclusion, showing how it directly contributes to business strategy and successful outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Quality Assurance: You'll be a program representative, participating in committees and providing expert consultation to external agencies and officials. This involves evaluating the quality of services through data analysis and feedback from clients and partners, ensuring continuous improvement based on best practices and customer satisfaction.
- Compliance and Problem-Solving: You will ensure the program and its staff adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards. This role also involves using performance improvement principles to address and resolve issues raised by staff, clients, and other stakeholders, fostering a culture of trust and collective problem-solving.
- Operational Oversight and Planning:You will regularly monitor the status of operations, customer care, and staff needs through direct observation and analysis. You will also use data to formulate objectives, determine resource needs, and create new procedures and protocols to ensure continuous progress and improvement.
- Subject Matter Expertise and Advisory: You'll act as a specialist in a technical area, offering expert advice and assistance on complex issues to both staff and external parties. This involves serving on management teams, contributing to program development, and providing technical guidance.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management, or related field. (In lieu of a degree, we will consider relevant education and experience)
- 3 years of experience in healthcare operations management, with a strong understanding of financial management, supervision, and quality improvement.

- Experience leading and supervising teams in a healthcare setting.
- Project management skills/ experience.
- Overseeing facility repairs and renovations with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in Epic EHR systems.
