Job Summary
The CTE Navigator is responsible for supporting students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs across Rock Valley College's satellite campuses, including the Downtown Campus, Aviation Career Education Center, and Advanced Technology Center. This position plays a vital role in connecting students with both campus and community resources to help them overcome barriers to academic and career success. The CTE Navigator works in close collaboration with the Student Navigator Generalist based at the Main Campus to ensure equitable access to support services for all students, regardless of location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and regularly update campus and community resource guides developed in collaboration with the Student Navigator Generalist.
- Develop specialized resource materials tailored to the unique needs of CTE students at the Downtown Campus, Aviation Career Education Center, and Advanced Technology Center.
- Foster a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages students to seek assistance and utilize available services.
- Actively promote services by participating in resource fairs and hosting information tables at CTE-focused campuses.
- Maintain a consistent on-site presence at the following locations:
- Downtown West Campus
- Advanced Technology Center
- Aviation Career Education Center
- Serve as a reliable and visible point of contact at each location, providing students with dependable access to guidance and support.
- Connect non-CTE students to the Student Navigator Generalist for appropriate resources and assistance.
- Must exercise advanced reasoning and mature critical and analytical thinking skills.
- Model excellent customer service to students, faculty, administration, staff and others through all methods of contact.
- Confidentiality and independent judgment are required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Associates Degree
Valid Driver's License
Experience working withWindows, Microsoft Word, Excel (spreadsheet design and entry), database entry, Web page maintenance and or administrative software systems.
Experience working with college-age students.
Bilingual Preferred
