Preferred Education/Experience

- Currently enrolled in a Pre- Physician’s Assistant track, Pre- Nurse Practitioner Track, or Pre-Med Track (or recently graduated). (REQUIRED) All applicants who don’t meet this criteria will be rejected.
- Prior clinical or volunteer experience is a plus but not required



Hours per Week

- 8-16 hours a week (More during breaks)
- 4 to 8 hour shifts (4 hour minimum).

- Must be available for consistent weekly shifts during office hours (weekdays only).



Job Summary

You must be a current UK student employee to apply for this position. This position is located off-campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK.

- Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures
- Record and update patient histories, vital signs, height, weight, and developmental milestones
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens as directed
- Administer immunizations and medications (as permitted and trained)
- Communicate effectively with patients, parents, and healthcare team members
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and assist with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
- Support general office and clinical operations as needed

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

- Strong interest in pursuing a career in medicine, pediatrics, or a related healthcare field
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with children and families
- Reliable, responsible, and eager to learn in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Basic computer and data entry proficiency (experience with EHR systems preferred)
- Prior experience with children is a plus.
