BHE GT&S has an exciting career opportunity as a Superintendent, LNG Operations at our Cove Point LNG facility located in Lusby, MD.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Cove Point LNG, LP is seeking a Superintendent - Cove Point LNG Operations in Lusby, Maryland. The Superintendent reports directly to the Manager-LNG Operations & Maintenance and provides supervision and operational guidance to the shift operations teams and the supervisors of shift operations. Coordinates the operational activities of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import/export facility to provide reliable service to our customers in a safe, compliant, and socially responsible manner. Operational activities include liquefaction/re-gasification, LNG process systems, infrastructure, and power generation machinery. Dedication and sensitivity to safety issues and compliance with policies and procedures is essential for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the terminal.
Job Duties: Ensures safe, efficient operations of liquefaction terminal. Implementing the strategies for compliance with regulatory and company policies. Overseeing the scheduling of personnel, including shift coverage, training, and vacation. Overseeing the implementation of the programs, such as LOTO and operations training. Setting and communicating standards on performance, behavior, and professionalism. Overseeing the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and emergency plans. Providing analysis of problem situations and participating in the decision making/resolution process. Facilitating effective communications to inform employees of changing conditions, support requirements, etc. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent accepted) in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field and ten (10) years of related experience as a production manager, plant operator, or related occupation with a minimum 2 years of supervisory experience with direct reports required; or, in the alternative, will accept no degree with twelve (12) years of related experience as a production manager, plant operator, or related occupation with a minimum 2 years of experience with direct reports required.
Experience must include the following specific experience and knowledge:
- Demonstrated experience in LNG plant simultaneous operations: liquefaction, vaporization, and ship loading.
- In-depth operational knowledge of the following processes and equipment: Large centrifugal refrigerant compressors; Heavy Hydrocarbon removal units; APCI C3MR process; APCI Advanced Controls; GE Frame 7 gas turbines; Liquid and gas expanders; LNG ship gas-up and cooldown recovery system; DGA Amine acid gas removal system; and Delta V Distributed Control System.
- Knowledge of power generation, liquid natural gas process operations, hydrocarbon process operations or chemical process operations gained through considerable related work experience.
- Knowledge of pipeline operations, engineering practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of industry safety, environmental and regulatory requirements that support federal, state and local laws/rules.
