This position is a support technician (ISS4) for the Office of Information Services' Collaborative Communications Unit. The support technician is responsible for providing overall support for video conferencing, email, calendars, instant messaging, mobile devices, and other communication functions supported by the work unit. Responsibilities will include order fulfillment, device/service troubleshooting, device/account setup/changes, and general customer service/assistance/support.
This position will create/maintain scripts using MS PowerShell and other languages, some user interfaces for routine tasks, and manage data storage, validation, querying, and reporting using MS SQL Server and SQL tools.
In addition, the technician will perform administrative entry and support/troubleshooting tasks in MS Exchange, MS Teams, MS OneDrive, mobile device fulfillment/management systems and other systems integrated into the messaging environment. This position will also provide Tier II proactive technical support and problem resolution using trouble ticketing, email, and verbal communication techniques.
This position requires excellent communications skills, including good listening skills; troubleshooting skills; and effective communications in specific customer and public situations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Information Systems Specialist 4
(a) Three (3) years of information systems experience in:
Providing Customer Support for Information Technology.
OR
(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;
AND
one (1) year of information systems experience in: Providing Customer Support for Information Technology.

- Experience with Mobile devices or cellular service.

Special Requirements: To be hired, you must have a criminal records and driving records check that meets OHA criteria at the time of hire, and throughout employment.
Working Conditions:
This position is eligible for full time remote work, or could be on-site or hybrid if desired. If working on-site, the work would be in a standard open office environment with cubicles and/or an agreed upon remote work environment with significant use of a computer and video conferencing. If working in an open office environment, this position may be exposed to the sounds and activity of those working in close proximity. These conditions may be in high traffic areas with moderate to loud noises and frequent interruptions. Incumbent may be required to remain at a workstation, wearing a telephone headset while typing information received from customers into the incident tracking system.
May receive “spur-of-the-moment” requests for services and products by phone, e-mail, and from in-person requiring a quick turnaround. This position involves frequent contact with executives, management, and staff both internal and external to the organization. This position may occasionally be exposed to difficult situations requiring diplomacy and de-escalation strategies. Confidentiality of information must be maintained at all times.
To ensure the availability and continued operation of ODHS/OHA production systems, occasional night and weekend work (outside of regular work hours) may be required to respond to new feature implementations, production problems and system failures. This position requires the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, sometimes within short time frames, and interface effectively with business partners. Deadlines and department requirements may create stressful situations. Travel to meetings may be required with some travel to trainings. There can be frequent interruptions, demanding timeframes, and non-traditional working hours. May require long hours with night/weekend work and occasional travel. Employee may be required to use a state vehicle to conduct business; must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record or be able to provide an acceptable alternative method of transportation. Overtime, Comp-time, or Straight-time may be required (depending on the position classification).
