Job Description:

The Role

The Tax Group is primarily responsible for analyzing the Funds books and records in order to provide accurate and timely fund distributions, tax returns and shareholder reporting and to ensure compliance with various Tax Agencies. This includes 40-Act Retail Mutual Funds, Canadian Mutual Fund Trusts, Partnerships and ETFs. The Tax Representative is responsible for the preparation of the dividend estimate on an annual and interim basis. They also prepare 1120-RIC tax returns and provide support for Tax related tasks and ad hoc projects as needed.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • General knowledge of accounting and tax principles
  • Knowledge of financial services industry is a plus, not required
  • Experience fund operations, or tax strongly preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime (as needed) to fulfill the job requirements
  • Ability to embrace and adapt to an ever-changing technological environment

The Team

The Tax Team is part of the Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) business unit, which provides accounting and investment management support services to Fidelity businesses and mutual fund shareholders. The Tax team, along with the Shareholder Reporting Team, makes up the Fund Administration Group within FFIO. The primary responsibilities of the team include providing tax compliance services for US 40-Act mutual funds, Canadian mutual fund trusts, and alternative investment products. The Tax Team works closely with several different operations teams and internal business partners including Shareholder Reporting, Compliance, Legal, and Fund Treasury.

Investment Operations

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
