Habitat Capital (HCap) has been a nationally certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) since 2017. HCap is a wholly-owned entity of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI or Habitat) and was created to serve our more than 1,000 US-based Habitat affiliates by providing an array of financial services and products to support their work as affordable mortgage originators, real estate developers, home-builders, sellers, and partners for housing and community solutions. To date, HFHI and HCap have provided over $400M in capital to its US domestic affiliate network via enterprise-level, secured project-level, bridge and structured financing for affordable housing and community development projects as well NMTC allocation for homeownership initiatives. Additionally, HCap seeks to develop and provide permanent mortgage financing products. HCap is hiring a Technical Assistance Senior Specialist that will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of Habitat Capital's housing finance technical assistance (TA) program. Habitat Capital's TA program provides support to Habitat affiliates to increase their affordable housing developer skillsets and increase housing production across the United States.
Reporting to the Director of Technical Assistance, the Senior Specialist will provide TA through a variety of formats including one-on-one support, group meetings, in-person intensives, online courses and tools. As a member of the Habitat Capital team, the Senior Specialist will be expected to embody the principles and values that Habitat for Humanity was founded on and ensure a high performing, people-centric culture within the team.
Essential Job Duties
- Envision, plan, and develop a detailed work plan and strategic framework, including phased timelines, milestones, deliverables, and KPIs from ideation through delivery. 25%
- Build and manage affiliate relationships to assess current capacity and needs, including survey design, dissemination, and 1-on-1 discovery conversations with affiliates.10%
- Plan, develop, and manage TA content, presentations, materials, and financial tools required for
- implementation. 10%
- Coordinate the selection or use of a technology platform used to deliver the TA program.5%
- Coordinate and develop messaging, including collaborating with communications department and affiliates service organizations to socialize and roll out TA content and program.5%
- Deliver technical assistance through webinars, workshops, 1-on-1 office hours, and conference sessions. 20%
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Technical Assistance program, including coordinating the scheduling, logistics, and delivery of webinars, online courses, in-person Academy Summits, regional peer-learning hubs, and 1:1 affiliate support sessions. 10%
- Review and revise technical assistance content for relevance, and update as needed. 5%
- Track, analyze, and report on program KPIs and affiliate outcomes; maintain dashboards and prepare regular reports for senior leadership on affiliate participation, skill development, and housing production impacts. 5%
- Onboard any additional staff added to the TA team 5%
Minimum Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience
Years of Related Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in relevant professional industry including, but not limited to, technical assistance, community/economic development finance, nonprofit lending, equity investments, impact investing, and/or financial services
- Focus on and commitment to equitable and inclusive programs benefiting low-income communities preferred
- Experience delivering affordable housing real estate development technical assistance to non-profit affordable housing developers. Proficient
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills including ability and willingness to balance strategic and organizational priorities without compromising quality or customer experience Proficient
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to represent HFHI’s mission and work in internal and external forums Proficient
- Commitment to and experience with affordable housing development in diverse, low- and moderate-income communities; commitment to demonstrating values of diversity, equity and inclusion through portfolio outcomes Proficient

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance. For work locations in the US, the hiring range for this position is $66,390 to $78,100.
Staff hired on a hybrid basis in the United States near an HFHI office location (Atlanta, Georgia / Washington, DC and Americus, GA), are required to report to the office on Tuesdays.
