Brief Job Overview/Summary
The Richard E. Bjork Library at Stockton University is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Library Assistant to join the Access Services team. Under the supervision of the Access Services Assistant Supervisor the LTA will work Tuesday-Saturday, 2PM-10PM at the Circulation/Ask Us desk supporting library patron discovery and access to physical and digital text resources as well as to the use of specialty digital software. The best candidate will have excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills likely to be effective in an academic library setting. Summer and holiday working hours will shift according to the University Course Schedule and Library Hours.
Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Provides first level discovery assistance for all access services library inquiries across media.
• Coordinates and provides first level access and troubleshooting for library specialty technology and software including printing, 3D printing, document scanning, podcasting set-up, and the initiation of gaming and experiential software; refers complex problems to designated personnel.
• Certified in the use and first level maintenance of the digital Library Circulation Module of the Integrated Library System, ALMA, as well as in the 3D printer, scanner, plotter, pod casting, and experiential 360 technologies.
• Performs research and aids faculty and students with all software use, and compiles, analyzes, and reports on technology use in all library technology areas.
• Uses Banner modules for the library and all access services automated systems to assist faculty and students.
• Performs research and aids with various library projects, holds training for student and faculty use of library digital technologies.
• Oversees library student workers in the first level maintenance and use of library technologies.
• Opens and closes the library according to unit procedures on weekends.
• Seeks and achieves certification in specialty technologies used in the library.
Required Qualifications:
- Four (4) years of experience in work involving the processing of technical clerical work in a library, one (1) year of which shall have included the supervision of Library Assistants or other clerical titles.
NOTE: - Applicants who do not possess the required experience, may substitute one (1) year of the required supervisory experience with thirty (30) semester hour credits in a Librarian Technician course at an accredited college.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Digital and technical familiarity with electronic and information systems used in an academic library
• Ability to solve problems in library customer service use of technology
• Ability to work collaboratively and harmoniously with associates, superiors, faculty, staff, and student library users.
• Ability to follow established procedures and regulations
