Every tank you install directly impacts how safely and reliably families, farms, and businesses heat their homes and run their operations. In this role, you’re not just completing service calls, you’re the face of WOC Energy in the field, ensuring customers can count on propane systems that are installed right the first time. Your work keeps communities running, especially when reliability matters most.
What success looks like
Within your first 90 days, you’ll be independently completing tank installations that meet all NFPA and local code requirements, accurately documenting your work, and supporting delivery operations when needed. You’ll know your territory, your equipment, and your customers and your manager will trust you to handle installations safely, professionally, and without constant oversight.
What you’ll actually do in your first 30 days
- Complete safety, compliance, and systems training, including company installation standards and documentation processes
- Ride along with experienced technicians to learn EDP’s installation practices, customer expectations, and regional requirements
- Begin performing supervised tank installations and service work, receiving real-time feedback
- Learn internal systems for service orders, billing, vehicle inspections, and incident reporting
Core responsibilities
- Install propane tanks in compliance with all state and local regulations, including NFPA 58 and 54
- Maintain required CDL credentials and complete licensing or certification training as needed
- Perform daily vehicle inspections (DVIR) and keep your truck and equipment in excellent working order
- Accurately complete and submit service orders and billing documentation each day
- Document and invoice parts used according to approved pricing and sales proposals
- Support seasonal delivery operations by driving a delivery vehicle when needed
- Report incidents or safety concerns immediately to the General Manager
- Participate in on-call coverage, including occasional evenings or extended hours based on customer needs
- Safely lift, carry, and maneuver equipment up to 75 pounds in a variety of weather conditions
Requirements
- Valid Class B CDL
- Ability to perform physical job requirements, including lifting up to 75 lbs
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic computer skills for documenting service orders and inspections
- Commitment to working safely and following propane installation regulations
- Tanker and/or Hazmat endorsements
- 2–3 years of experience in propane, HVAC, or a closely related field
- Familiarity with propane systems, NFPA codes, and industry standards
- Customer-facing experience and strong communication skills
- Prior on-call or field service experience
