This role helps advance campus-wide technology and cybersecurity initiatives while offering hands-on experience in creating educational materials, digital engagement, and outreach. The intern will work with both the Information Security Awareness Educator and the Assistant Director of Digital Engagement & Learning on a range of tasks, including but not limited to:- Creating and editing technology-specific educational outreach materials (flyers, posters, digital signage, newsletters, radio PSAs, videos, etc.) using approved UTS templates and guidelines.
- Supporting the UTS Division social media platforms by drafting and editing educational and engagement content.
- Helping organize and interpret engagement data to identify trends and program support decision-making.
- Coordinating and staffing in person outreach events across campus.
- Maintaining and organizing the department’s outreach and promotional item inventory and preparing materials for events.
- Various other related tasks.
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student whose major, minor, coursework, or career interests align with digital communication, marketing, education, or related fields
- Students should have a demonstrated interest in technology engagement, digital outreach, or educational content development
- Excellent communication skills, creativity, and attention to detail
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Familiarity with social media platforms and understanding of engagement strategies
- Basic graphic design skills using tools like Canva or Adobe Express
- Ability to create simple videos or edit short clips for social media
- Ability to interpret metrics and summarize data insights
- Reliability, ability to work independently, and comfort interacting with students and staff
