Assists in preparation of test items, test sites, related equipment and facilities in support of weapon’s system testing. Participates in test operations in accordance with operational test documentation including Operation Test Plans (OTP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and National Range Documentation Operation Directives (OD’s). Specific tasking may include instrumentation setup and operation, collection and distribution of data, ammunition assembly, and environmental monitoring. Applies general knowledge of weapon’s system operating procedures and testing requirements and reference to written manuals and procedures to assure proper setup and operation of equipment for test purposes. Work may be checked by supervisor or higher graded technician to assure compliance with written procedures, test plans and/or accepted practices. May be assigned other duties within his or her capabilities. Work may include cross training and certification for other jobs on the contract and associated cross utilization into other jobs as required. Test schedules may require some overtime and/or weekend work.
