Testing Technician I (part-time)

We have an opening for a Testing Technician I at our Chattanooga State campus!

** This is a part-time (20-25 hours/week) position on a temporary contract **

Essential Functions

Program Innovation

  • Becomes a certified proctor for PearsonVue testing.
  • Assists as needed with additional exams given in the testing center (Accuplacer, CLEP, MOS, & TEAS).

Organizational Culture

  • Communicates clearly to large groups of examinees regarding testing guidelines and information.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Holistic Student Support

  • Provides general information regarding testing schedules and procedures for all exams.
  • Monitors examinees to ensure a secure and quiet test environment that supports testing integrity.

Fiscal Stewardship

  • Proctors online and conventional paper/pencil exams.
  • Maintains security and accountability of all exams.
  • Handles and reports technical irregularities or suspicious behavior to supervisor.
  • Performs various clerical functions such as filing, record keeping, and answering phones.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Daytime, evening & Saturday flexibility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. The ability to operate standard office equipment which includes basic computer knowledge of Excel and Word and multi-line phone, are required
  • Must have the ability to solve conflict fairly and amicably

Minimum Requirements

Education and Training: High School diploma

Preferred Qualifications

Education and training: Experience with proctoring exams, one year full-time experience in an educational setting and/or public contact.

Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
