This position will work with the Director to deliver training initiatives and arrange suitable training solutions.

Specifically, this position facilitates the Advancing Equity and Justice Curriculum, UNITAS: Office of Community Enrichment’s inventory of trainings, and collaborating with campus partners to design tailored sessions to the needs of the audience. This position actively researches best and community practices, creatively constructs and designs training materials, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance, and recognize competence across all levels of the organization.

UNITAS: Office of Community Enrichment will be hiring 2 Training Specialists. The anticipated start date for the role is in the month of July. In content development, one Training Specialist will be primarily responsible for developing concurrent curriculum sessions, and one Training Specialist will be primarily responsible for developing singular and micro-learning sessions. Both Training Specialists will be responsible for understanding and facilitating the entire inventory of educational training sessions.

  • Deliver Education and Training session materials utilizing interactive, dynamic facilitation practices that center justice and shared accountability.
  • Maintain the integrity and continued evolution of the Advancing Equity and Justice Curriculum (AEJC) by integrating best practices, emerging research, institutional feedback, and assessment data.
  • Facilitate learning across difference while maintaining integrity to learning outcomes.
  • Coordinate logistics of pre and post-assessment processes, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Contribute to the Education and Training inventory by developing new sessions informed by community need and institutional data.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to align training initiatives with broader institutional needs.
  • Coordinate planning, organizing, and scheduling functions for development and training events.

25% Community Development Initiatives
  • Coordinate Community Building Events/ Socials.
  • Support the Director in Employee Resource Group community events.
  • Serve on University Committees as a representative of the department, contributing systems-level insight related to equity and organizational development.

15% Social Media
  • Oversee UNITAS social media as a strategic tool to extend educational content and reinforce learning objectives.

5% Other
  • Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Formal Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree, with desired emphasis on fields related to social justice, equity, social psychology, education, or organizational development.

Work Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in higher education (or similar environment) facilitating dynamic training programs to diverse participants.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a trainer, facilitator, or educator on social justice topics.

Work Skills (e.g., written and verbal communication skills)
  • Ability to communicate and facilitate conversation.
  • Demonstrated capacity to analyze group and organizational dynamics in real time and adapt facilitation strategies accordingly.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with campus partners across varying levels of the institution.
  • Strong public speaking skills and ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated reflective practice and awareness of facilitator positionality in relation to power and community dynamics.

Specific Job Knowledge (e.g., knowledge of principles and procedures related to field and area)
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence, including the ability to navigate group dynamics and respond skillfully to questions while facilitating.
  • Experience facilitating conversations related to power, social identities, community building, and institutional change.
  • Understanding of theoretical frameworks, current trends, and research in Social Justice Education, Adult Learning Theory, Critical Pedagogies, Psychological Safety and Belonging, Organizational Change, and Social Construction.
  • Knowledge of organizational systems analysis and ability to connect individual learning experiences to broader institutional structures and policies.
  • Expertise in translating complex theory into accessible language across varied audiences.
  • Knowledge of multiple learning modalities and platforms for delivering education across in-person and virtual environments.
Preferred Qualifications:Formal Education
  • Master’s degree preferred, with desired emphasis on fields related to social justice, equity, social psychology, education, or organizational development.

Work Experience
  • Current or recent position in Social Justice Training / Education.

Specific Job Knowledge (e.g., knowledge of principles and procedures related to field and area)
  • Experience in development of data-informed training curriculum and institutional reporting.
  • Experience supporting faculty in an academic setting.
  • Experience providing collaborative, creative, consultative support to justice-related issues at the departmental or institutional level.
  • Knowledge of designing scaffolded learning experiences that integrate restorative justice, healing-centered practices, and conflict mediation.
  • Experience supporting institutional change initiatives or equity-centered policy review.
