$50,627.20 Annually
**Although there is a salary range for this position, the candidate hired into this position will be hired at the bottom of the salary range.**

THE POSITION
Performs a variety of inspection, maintenance and repair services at bus stops, transfer centers, and related passenger facilities.
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
Working Conditions: May work shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Work Experience: Equivalent to high school diploma/GED and equivalent to two (2) years of general maintenance experience, which included record keeping.
Licensing and Certification: Must possess and maintain a valid Class C Driver's License at the time of application.
Medical Examination: Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
Background Investigation: Employment with the Regional Transportation Commission in this position is contingent upon the results of a comprehensive background investigation, including qualifying education/experience verification, social security trace,
criminal history records review, and driving history records check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical ability to perform maintenance and related work, including operating hand and power equipment; stamina to stand and walk for extended periods of time; strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds with proper equipment;
vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Work is subject to performance in extreme environmental conditions and in areas of high traffic volume.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Review, evaluate and respond to complaints received about bus stop maintenance and cleanliness, records finding in bus stop database. Conducts routine inspections of bus stops to ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness. Takes necessary steps to mitigate or secure emergency conditions such as broken glass, exposed electrical wiring, or severely damaged shelters or other amenities. Maintains inventory of supplies for program, orders replacements when necessary. Removes data from fare boxes; empties cashbox into vault receiver; reinstalls cashbox; delivers bins to main collection location; maintains ticket stock. Inspects bus
stop signs for cleanliness, condition and proper route information. Installs or causes to be installed new signs at existing stops as needed. Cleans signs, removing dirt, graffiti and/or stickers. Posts detours and temporary bus stop notices. Maintains bus stop database and other reports related to amenities and bus stop program. Inspects and marks the location of new bus stops and checks stop conditions against checklist criteria. Reports deficiencies to supervisor/Transit Planning. Prepares BSARs (Bus Stop Action Requests) and submits to jurisdictions for action; re-inspects for installation and/or relays jurisdiction comments or objections to Supervisor. Responds to inquiries and investigates complaints and provides information to supervisor/manager regarding bus stops and transit amenities. Based on input from the transit Service Providers and Transit Operations, locates trees that need to be trimmed to ensure visibility of bus stops and to prevent damage to transit vehicles operating in public rights-of-way. Work includes compiling list of affected property owners and causing them to be notified, coordinating with contractor to perform the work, and follow-up inspection
of work. Responds to inquiries from contractors and engineers, as assigned, to coordinate temporary relocation or removal of bus stops to facilitate construction projects. Operates a wide variety of power and hand tools in performing maintenance and repair services. Drives official vehicle to job sites in a safe and efficient manner. All other duties as assigned.
