Position Summary
Leads, empowers and develops the Logistics team. Assists in safely and effectively managing the people, transfers, 3PL providers, customer order shortages and other resources in a customer focused and cost-efficient manner to meet business requirements and support profitable growth. This position is primarily a leadership position responsible for managing day -to -day operations of the Proximo Logistics network. This position is based at our Hebron, KY facility.
Main Role & Responsibilities
- Provide creative, flexible, tenacious, diplomatic and consistent leadership to develop the Logistics team.
- Effectively lead the day-to day operations of the Proximo Transportation team.
- Primary responsibility will be day to day management of all Import / Export service providers including, but not limited to, cost effectiveness, control of expenditure, service excellence, customs brokerage services, and purchase order management.
- This position will also assist the Assistant Manager of Transportation in managing Domestic service providers and serve as primary backup in their absence.
- Assists in maintaining a working knowledge of, and works proactively and in accordance with, all current and anticipated legislative requirements and best proactive relevant to the transport industry and all customs related processes.
- Assists the Asst. Mgr. in developing and maintaining the teams Standard Operating Procedures for all Transportation related activities and vendor management.
- Works closely with warehouse receiving and shipping teams and other key personnel to ensure that all transportation solutions are designed to improve our customer shipments.
- Oversee customer order changes, new order updates, planning/carrier scheduling, bulk tanker/rail shipments for the facilities, rail car track and trace, samples (domestic/export), Hazmat shipments, NAFTA documentation, TTB Export reporting, shortage/inventory reporting, daily freight bills, transmittals and order call outs.
- Provides weekly and monthly summary reports to leadership highlighting any opportunities in the logistics space as well as providing performance analysis on all vendors handling Import/Export goods.
- Ensures timely completion of all daily, weekly, and monthly administrative processes by Logistics Coordinators within the Transportation/Logistics department.
- Collaborates with various departments (ie Planning, procurement, customer service) to ensure product and carrier availability.
- Consistently promotes and adheres to Company policy, procedure and legislation, including but not limited to, that relating to health and safety.

Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred from accredited college (preferable in Supply Chain/Logistics or related areas)
- High School Degree or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team and mentor future leaders
- Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of major ERP, WMS, and TMS systems (i.e. SAP)
- Working knowledge of warehouse processes
- Working knowledge of freight/trucking operations
- Inventory management experience a plus
