Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects over 50lbs; Job related travel; Loud noises; Temperature extremes; Hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste; Animal handling (including carcasses); Subject to unpleasant sights and pungent smells.

Position may be physically strenuous and demanding requiring exposure to all weather conditions, including, severe hot and cold outdoor temperatures.

Shift

7:30am – 4:15pm Hours of work may vary dependent upon situational factors, emergencies, and/or crisis management requiring night(s), weekend(s), and/or holiday(s) response.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Trucking Services Supervisor, this position is responsible for the transport of materials (freight/recycling) to and from specified locations, including loading and unloading vehicles; manually picking up and moving various materials (i.e.) recycling, waste, surplus equipment/furniture and special events resources, etc., from locations on/off campus via stairways, elevators, and dock locations; and ensuring excellent customer service.

The Trucking Driver Lead supports the Trucking Services Supervisor in providing direction and oversight of team members in their successful completion of daily tasks; Ensures assigned work schedules are maintained by staff and job duties completed on a daily basis; In the absence of staff, ensures all customer areas are covered by recommending to the Trucking Services Supervisor any adjustments to schedules as needed.

Demonstrated knowledge of mechanics; driver’s courses; etc.
