This is a dual appointment between UPP and Pitt. Will provide strategic decision-making, policy development, and policy implementation for the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine.


Job Summary

Reserved for dually employed UPP Administrators. Typically acts at the Director - Business Administration level responsible for all HR and Financial aspects of an area that employs both Pitt and UPMC employees. Analyzes high-level purchasing documents and reviews procurement processes. Monitors human resources transactions processed through University electronic action forms. Participates in strategic planning and implements policies and procedures. Reviews budgets, expenses, and revenues against financial goals and prepares reports. Resolves moderate to highly complex operational issues.


Essential Functions

This position provides direct oversight and manages operations including budgets, financial reporting, strategic planning, revenue cycle, government grants and contracts, medical research, clinical services, information systems, human resources including physicians and staff, space allocation and building requirements, and all business practices of the department.


Physical Effort

Light physical effort as position is mostly sedentary; however, must be able to travel throughout the campus and hospitals.
