How will you make an impact in this role?

The Developer Enablement team will partner closely with Technology leaders to operationalize platforms (EA Playbook, SRE, One Amex, etc.), frameworks (Balance & Control, Enterprise logging, Reliable transaction, etc.) and DX workstreams (Onboarding/Innersource, etc.) across Product and Technology.

Responsible for creating knowledge-based information leveraging documentation-as-code practices to create comprehensive documentation to provide instructional information and support to the developer community in how to build software the Amex Way:

  • Using writing skills to create reference materials that explain complex concepts and instructions in a digestible way for target audiences - in this case, application and software developers.
  • Gather technical information, determine scope and requirements, editing and proofreading content, communicating with stakeholders and collaborators, and managing multiple simultaneous projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Has at least 3 years of experience in technical documentation
  • Being able to write well and produce engaging written material
  • Is more of a strategic thinker, less of a blank-filler
  • Is a champion for collaboration early and often
  • Advocates for the user (colleague)
  • Pivot quickly and supports multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exudes positivity, requires minimal supervision, and has a strong work ethic
  • Is an ambassador for UX writing, playing a key role in help this team reach it's potential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with documentation-as-code methodologies and practices
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and web development practices.
  • Experience with content management strategy planning and execution
  • Familiarity with software development processes and practices (SDLC, Pull Requests, Code Commits)

Salary Range: $84,000.00 to $139,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
