
Vice President of Accounting - VC Fund Administration

The Role
Fidelity is seeking a Vice President of Accounting to help define a new product offering and serve VC clients in their fund accounting and administration. The ideal candidate will have a start-up mentality with an interest in building a digital-forward solution for fund administration, an expertise in VC Fund Accounting with excellent client engagement.
You’ll be responsible for a range of fund administration activities, including:
Complete accounting activities for funds of venture capital clients. This is inclusive of close-ended Funds, Special Purpose Vehicles, General Partner Entities, Blocker Entities, Parallel Entities, and other investment vehicles.
Lead and manage client engagements, acting as the primary point of contact for clients, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Consult on the innovation of building a new, digital-forward solution for fund administration, showcasing a start-up mentality and experience in working closely with product development.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
8-12+ years of fund accounting experience in venture capital. Experience working at a fund administrator is required
Deep venture capital industry experience and a strong background in partnership accounting.
Experience with Limited Partnership Agreements and LLC Operating Agreements including interpretations of key LPA provisions and applications in practice. Experience and understanding of traditional close-ended Funds, Special Purpose Vehicles, General Partner Entities, Blocker Entities, Parallel Entities, and other investment vehicles.
A deep understanding of US GAAP and the calculations and related journal entries associated with key fund transactions including management fees, syndication costs, organization costs, fund expenses, investment transactions, and capital activity.
Proficiency and experience building financial statements and familiarity with common annual financial statement footnotes
An understanding of tax as to the annual K-1 reporting process and common deadlines.
Experience working in Allvue is a plus.
Possess strong client and relationship management skills to drive outcomes and meet customer needs
Operational mindset with a strong focus on building repeatable, scalable processes
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Skilled at building relationships at all levels of the organization
Comfort with ambiguity; self-starter and entrepreneurial; inclusive attitude

The base salary range for this position is $118,000-226,000 USD per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
