The Role
The Vice President, Strategic Contracts manages large-scale contracting projects related to complex research, amendment, and/or MSA drafting that are received throughout the organization; and provides industry specific expertise and strategic and tactical direction in the development, negotiation, management and administration of complex supplier contract negotiations and relationships.
The Vice President provides industry specific expertise, influencing, strategic and tactical direction in the development, negotiation, management and administration of complex contract negotiations and supplier relationships. The Vice President will lead the process of analyzing contract issues to identifying and eliminating risks and optimizing value to Fidelity. The Vice President works independently on both standard and non-standard contracts.
The Expertise & Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree
- JD required
- 10+ years of substantive transactional contract negotiation experience required
- Expert ability to handle highly complex negotiations and varied contracts with Fidelity's most strategic vendor relationships independently
- Attend and represent contracts leadership at stakeholder meetings
- Create, oversee, and manage reporting and analytics for assigned project
- Significant transactional experience required, with excellent negotiation skills and knowledge of business terms and conditions.
- Top-quality presentation, interpersonal and diplomacy skills, including ability to simplify complicated issues and build consensus among competing interests
- Excellent strategic, tactical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills, which you will readily use to simplify sophisticated contract and business issues for straightforward, practical analysis and resolution.
- Executive-level confidence, presence, initiative and influencing skills
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple, large-scale projects at various stages both alone and delegating to others as needed.

The Team
We are an organization of professionals who own the contractual framework and contract process for most procurement-related strategic transactions across the firm. The VP, Strategic Contracts will manage the process for Fidelity’s most strategic and large complexity relationships and ad hoc contracting projects, including participating in weekly assessment and strategy meetings, creating and maintaining a pipeline of work, and facilitating communications between Strategic Contracts and its legal, risk, and other business partners.
