Village Recreation and Overnight Relief Staff (Married Couple)
Schedule: 2 weeks (14 consecutive days) on and 1 week off (7 consecutive days)

In response to this community-wide challenge, Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services (PCHAS), provides 14 programs and services in 28 locations, in Missouri, Texas, and Louisiana, which provide children with permanent homes and adults with increased self-sufficiency. Village Recreation and Overnight Relief will have the education, training, experience, skills, supervision, and support to provide overnight care that ensures the safety of children, and promote the well-being of children and foster families living in the Village. Village Recreation and Overnight Relief are responsible for a recreation programs planned in the PCHAS Village. They primarily organizers and direct participants. They will ensure that recreation facilities and equipment are used and maintained properly.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Village Recreation and Overnight Relief will provide overnight relief for Foster Parents in the Village.
2. Village Recreation and Overnight Relief will use Trust Based Relational Invention (TBRI) Principles of Connecting, Empowering and Correcting.
3. Village Recreation and Overnight Relief will provide support to Foster Parents in the Village when the VR&OR are not overnight relief with another home.
4. Village Recreation and Overnight Relief will communicate concerns, events, medical issues or emotional needs of the children to Foster Parents.
5. Village Recreation and Overnight Relief will handle recreation, by supervising play or team activities.
6. Village Recreation and Overnight Relief will transport food bank purchases while on duty.
7. Village Recreation and Overnight Relief will supervise special events (such as but not limited to: parties, volunteer groups) happening in the Village as permitted by their work schedule.
8. VR&OR will meet with their supervisor bi-monthly, attend trainings and Regional meetings.
Working Conditions:
· Must be able to navigate CSWIS and Outlook 365 email.
· Hours of work may vary according to the needs of Village Life events.
· Must be able to see, hear, and respond to youth, foster parents and/or other PCHAS staff.
· Work environment is high energy with a possibility of verbal/physical aggression from youth.
Moderate risk of exposure to infectious diseases
Requirements:· A Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service’s field from an accredited college or university is preferred. A minimum of a High School Diploma is required. Must be 21 + years of age.
· Licenses and Certifications: TBRI, CPR, First Aid, CPI - all part of job training.
Other Requirements:
Must hold a valid driver’s license, have and maintain a risk-free driving record. Must be willing to undergo initial and periodic child abuse/neglect, criminal history, sexual offender, and child care/elder care disqualification list screenings. As requested, must submit fingerprints for review by the state of your employment and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Must undergo a pre-employment drug screen and a pre-employment physical with the results showing no evidence of communicable disease.
