Job Description:

The Role

The Vice President of Investment Services will lead and be responsible for the operational infrastructure of the in-house RIA (i.e., FIWA), ensuring seamless delivery of investment services to internal stakeholders and clients. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day operations, optimizing workflows, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring regulatory compliance across all investment platforms. The VP will serve as a strategic partner to portfolio management, manager research, asset allocation, governance, and product teams.

  • Strategic Leadership & Oversight:

  • Develop the vision and path for FIWA Investment Services, making certain that operational capacities are aligned with the changing needs of research and portfolio management teams

  • Lead the buildout of scalable, technology-enabled processes that support investment execution, data integrity, and research distribution

  • Fulfill the role of the primary operational spokesperson in cross-functional dialogues, supporting the operational requisites of FIWA’s investment setup

  • Team Management & Development:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of directors, encouraging a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence

  • Defining team structure, roles, and career paths to support organizational growth and talent development

  • Promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing across the Investment Services team and the broader FIWA organization

  • Operational Excellence:

  • Coordinate production workflows supporting non-discretionary portfolio management, model rebalances, manager research, and investment IP distribution.

  • Ensure quality control, reasonability checks, and documentation standards are embedded across all operational processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and improve service delivery

  • Technology & Infrastructure:

  • Partner with technology teams to define and implement investment infrastructure, including data platforms, portfolio tools, and automation capabilities

  • Lead the prioritization of platform improvements and ensure alignment with FIWA’s strategic objectives

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Foster collaboration with internal partners across Portfolio Management, Research, Compliance, Technology, and Operations

  • Represent FIWA in interactions with external collaborators, such as discretionary managers and data providers

  • Champion FIWA’s operational requirements throughout the wider Fidelity organization

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in investment operations, preferably within an RIA or asset management firm

  • Strong understanding of model portfolio management, trading systems, and regulatory requirements

  • FINRA Series 7, 63, and 24 licenses (or the ability to acquire within a specified timeframe)

  • Proven leadership and strong project management skills

  • Outstanding communication, critical thinking, and collaborator management capabilities

It is imperative to ensure that FIWA’s investment infrastructure is robust, scalable, and aligned with our strategic aims. Additionally, you will promote a culture of clarity, collaboration, and ongoing enhancement to accomplish detailed delivery of investment services.

The base salary range for this position is $125,000-258,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
