VP, Head of Investment Oversight
The Role
In this role you will manage the Investment Oversight Team, which helps ensure that the assets of Fidelity Charitable are invested in a prudent manner and in line with investment policies and guidelines. The team consists of three functional areas: 1) oversight of the investment portfolio holdings against established policies and guidelines, 2) execution and oversight of trading activity, and 3) investment data, reporting strategy, and investment decision support tools.
This team also serves as subject matter experts and is the primary point of contact for internal cross-functional business partners, as well as external advisors and donors on topics related to investment program capabilities, guidelines, and policies. Additionally, the team is responsible for oversight of non-discretionary trading and the liquidation of certain securities contributions made by donors.
In this role, you will define and communicate the direction and multi-year strategy of the oversight, trading and reporting teams. You will work across the organization to influence outcomes and gain alignment on initiatives. You will set standards of care, policies and guidelines that will drive the work of the team. You will provide managerial oversight of the team, including the establishment of controls and reporting. You and the team will support new and existing advisor and donor relationships though consultative and solution-oriented discussions with advisors, donors, and with internal stakeholders (relationship managers and fundraisers). You will work with management to identify and implement opportunities to improve service quality and operating efficiency, optimize costs, and mitigate operational risk. You will serve as the main point of contact for organizational strategic and departmental initiatives and projects related to investment oversight. You will work collaboratively with internal auditors and other operation heads in developing and maintaining a strong control environment.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
15+ years’ experience in investment oversight, operations, and trading
MBA or graduate degree in finance, economics, or related field
CFA and/or CAIA, or progress towards these certifications is preferred.
Demonstrated experience setting multi-year strategies for a functional team, working across an organization to gain trust and alignment with other senior leaders.
Strong intrapersonal skills, building and strengthening relationships, influencing without authority.
Proven experience leading a team of successful professionals, including mentoring and career development.
Experience with compliance and risk management work.
Experience conducting analysis of portfolio asset allocation, performance, and attribution, in context of investment policy statements and guidelines.
Experience with capital markets, including institutional trading in various markets and venues, and analysis of trading metrics.
In-depth understanding of public equities, fixed income, international, and derivatives markets. Understanding of alternative investments and their role in a well-diversified portfolio.
Experience with the creation of investment reporting to senior leadership and/or boards.
Experience presenting detailed portfolio overviews to senior leadership, including market commentary, allocation decisions, attribution and performance.
Outstanding decision-making and problem resolution skills, including account remediation plans, and the ability to operate and collaborate with a high level of autonomy.
Demonstrated relationship building and influence capabilities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong project-management skills; can think end-to-end about processes and workflows. Experience documenting and improving processes and procedures. Experience preparing and communicating strategic plans, project updates, and detailed metrics.
Experience with Advent APX and Morningstar Direct is a plus.
