Position Information

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President, Services and Solutions is a high-impact executive role created to accelerate the growth of The Battery Network’s expanding commercial Services and Solutions business. Reporting to the CEO, this leader will drive revenue growth, customer success, and scalable service delivery while guiding a field-based team that supports B2B customers nationwide.

This role leads a team of sales and strategy professionals to drive significant expansion of The Battery Network’s commercial business in the battery logistics sector, focused on end-of-life solutions, recall campaigns, EV battery management programs and solutions, and emergency response/site cleanup logistics management and support. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Executive Leadership & Business Growth: Lead the Services and Solutions function under the direction of the CEO, setting strategy and driving execution to accelerate revenue growth and evolve The Battery Network’s commercial Services and Solutions business.
  • Financial & Performance Accountability: Be accountable for financial performance for the Services and Solutions business, including revenue growth, forecasting, budgeting, and margin management; define and monitor KPIs to ensure delivery of annual and long-range performance targets at both regional and enterprise levels.
  • Strategic Planning & Scalable Execution: Develop and execute strategic and long-range plans to retain and grow the Services and Solutions business, guiding regional and enterprise execution while building scalable service delivery models that support double-digit growth across a national footprint.
  • Team & Talent Leadership: Build, organize, and lead a high-performing, field-based Services and Solutions team of Regional Program Managers and Customer Success Specialists; develop talent, strengthen leadership capability, and ensure alignment with organizational values, safety expectations, and performance expectations.
  • Customer Experience & Strategic Accounts: Lead a best-in-class, end-to-end customer experience for primarily B2B customer.; Drive the growth and retention of strategic accounts through a combination of direct executive engagement and team-led account management, while elevating awareness of The Battery Network’s full suite of services within customer organizations.
  • Market Insights & Solution Development: Analyze market, customer, and performance data to identify opportunities; translate insights into new or enhanced service offerings and go-to-market strategies aligned with customer needs and organizational capabilities.
  • Business Transformation & Innovation: Lead the continued transition from a collection and recycling model to a services-oriented approach, advancing innovation in end-of-life battery management, DDR, recalls, EV battery programs, and emergency response logistics.
  • Cross-Functional Senior Leadership: Partner closely with Operations, Finance, IT, Legal/Compliance, Marketing, and other functions to align customer solutions, internal capabilities, execution priorities, and regulatory, environmental, safety, and contractual requirements.
  • Executive Communication & Influence: Provide regular insights, recommendations, and performance updates to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team; represent the Services and Solutions business internally and externally with credibility and influence.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

The Battery Network is seeking a growth-minded, relationship-driven leader who can scale a customer-facing services organization while building a supportive, inclusive, high-performing team culture.

Education and Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business-related, technical, or relevant field, or equivalent experience at a minimum.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in people leadership roles within customer-facing, commercial, or services-oriented organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, growing, or scaling a business, business unit, or commercial function with accountability for revenue, performance, and strategic outcomes.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams through clear expectations, constructive feedback, and supportive performance management.

Business Acumen & Performance

  • Strong business acumen, including experience with forecasting, budgeting, KPIs, and performance measurement, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and/or revenue goals.
  • Proven ability to assess customer needs and deliver tailored solutions and strategies that create value and build long-term partnerships; familiarity with solution-based selling and advanced sales techniques.
  • Experience managing and expanding strategic B2B accounts, particularly in new or evolving markets.
  • Ability to design and implement scalable processes, performance measurement frameworks, and operating cadences that support business growth and team effectiveness.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Proven ability to lead and develop customer-facing teams, building trust and engagement across all levels, including senior account leaders and C-level executives.
  • People-first leadership style—caring, supportive, and collaborative—while providing clear direction, setting expectations, and driving high performance, including in virtual settings.
  • Skilled at building inclusive, psychologically safe, diverse teams that foster collaboration, innovation, and high-quality service outcomes.
  • Able to navigate complex, technical, or highly regulated environments, learning quickly and helping teams adapt and succeed.

Execution & Operational Skills

  • Proven ability to translate strategy into execution through strong project management, problem-solving, prioritized planning, performance measurement, and consistent operating cadences.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and mission-driven, utilizing a balanced approach of urgency, patience, and focus to deliver results in dynamic, complex environments.
  • Strong communication and executive presence, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build trusted relationships across teams, senior leaders, and key customer stakeholders.
  • Experience driving service excellence, retention, and customer success outcomes in customer-facing organizations.
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and practices.
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States for The Battery Network, with or without sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 50% on a flexible, as-needed basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree (MBA or similar) or equivalent executive experience.
  • Experience in battery, recycling, sustainability, logistics, environmental services, or adjacent industries, including emerging markets such as data center battery solutions.
  • Track record of leading customer-facing services, solutions, or account management teams in growth, transformation, or standalone business environments.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives that align organizational capabilities to deliver both mission-driven and commercial outcomes in highly regulated or technical environments.
  • Exposure to cross-functional strategy, including collaboration with operations, finance, IT, legal/compliance, and marketing to align customer solutions with organizational capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a mission-based organization where culture and values guide decision-making.
  • Familiarity with environmental issues, recycling, and sustainability.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, adaptability, and growth mindset in dynamic, complex environments.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position is remote based within the United States. Candidates must be able to work from a U.S.-based location and be eligible to work lawfully in the United States for The Battery Network.

    Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time, which may include, but not limited to, attending conferences, customer meetings, or team/organization-wide meetings (typically held at The Battery Network’s central office).

    The work hours, Monday - Friday, are 8 hours per day. The position may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week during peak periods.
