Overview
Lutron Electronics Co., Inc has an immediate opening for a 1st shift ShippingSupervisor at our facility in Ashland, VA. In this position, you would be a key part of the Shading Solutions manufacturing team. A successful Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading shipping operations in a fastpaced manufacturing environment across a twoshift operation. This role ensures customer orders are shipped accurately, on time, and in compliance with company standards. The Supervisor drives continuous improvement initiatives, coordinates outbound logistics, and works closely with Production and Materials teams to ensure orders are completed and staged for shipment as scheduled.

Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and develop hourly shipping team members across both shifts in their skills and career growth
- Enforce safety policies, standard work, and warehouse procedures
Ensure all customer orders are shipped on time, complete, and in accordance with customer, carrier, and company requirements
Oversee daily shipping schedules, load planning, and dock activities across both shifts.
Coordinate with carriers, freight brokers, and thirdparty logistics providers.
Verify shipping documentation, labeling, and bill of lading accuracy
Resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, and escalations
Utilize ERP/WMS systems to manage shipments, transactions, and reporting
Track and report key performance metrics (ontime shipping, errors, productivity, safety)
Drive continuous improvement in shipping processes, dock flow, and labor efficiency
Identify and lead root cause analysis for late shipments, errors, and capacity constraints
Support implementation of standard work, 5S, and lean initiatives
Assign labor based on volume, priorities, and staffing levels
Qualifications
- 10+ years of shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a warehouse setting
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred)
- Ability to work to support 1st shift warehouse schedule (1st shift: 8:00am-5:00pm)
- Demonstrated success in coaching, performance management and team development
- Strong understanding of outbound logistics, carriers, and shipping methods (LTL, FTL, parcel)
Proven problem-solving ability
Flexibility to work on evening shifts
Advanced math and computer skills
