Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Financial Analyst plays a key role at the Harvard Radcliffe Institute (HRI) by contributing expertise in financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and the management of restricted funds. The Financial Analyst exercises independent judgment and analytical skills, providing insightful data analysis and financial reports to facilitate informed decisions by senior management. 
 
In a highly collaborative team atmosphere, the Financial Analyst partners with other financial staff to streamline and enhance financial processes, including close collaboration with the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis on all aspects of the work. <h3>Job Description:</h3><h3>The Role</h3>This individual will be joining the Corporate Tax team in Boston, working closely with the Director and other team members to manage State and Local Indirect Tax function, including compliance, audits/controversies, planning, and system integrations for sales/use tax, personal property tax and similar tax types. If you are a highly motivated tax professional looking to join a growing, high caliber team environment, then, this is an opportunity for you!<h3>The Expertise and Skills You Bring</h3><ul><li> Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business. Master of Taxation is a plus.</li><li>1-3 years of multi-state Indirect tax experience in Big 4 public accounting or combination of public accounting and in-house tax department</li><li>Good understanding of indirect tax and state and local</li><li>Experience in preparing state and local tax returns and workpapers. Indirect tax experience is a plus.</li><li>Experience preferred in performing product analysis for sales/use tax determinations and multi-state software and technology tax technical knowledge.</li><li>CPA is a plus. </li><li>Experience working with tax compliance software (Vertex and PTMS preferred) </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (i.e., Excel, Words, PowerPoint, etc.</li><li>Proficiency in workflow tools such as Alteryx and Power BI</li><li>Experience in ERP and/or procurement systems, such as Oracle R12 and Ariba is a plus</li><li>Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects.</li><li>Self-starter who takes initiative while seeking appropriate guidance.</li><li>Strong accounting, analytical, and organizational skills. </li><li>Detail and process oriented producing high quality work. </li><li>Excellent presentation and written and oral skills.</li><li>Collaborator communicating effectively and well with other professionals throughout the organization. </li><li>Commitment to self-development, continuous learning and career advancement. </li></ul><h3>The Team</h3>The Fidelity tax department is a fast-paced, team-focused, and dynamic work environment.
