Title: Senior Accountant
POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Accountant manages financial transactions and coordinates accounting operations for the College and its Foundation while ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations by maintaining accurate financial records.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains fixed asset records in accordance with institutional policies, including performing depreciation calculations and conducting annual physical inventory of assets. Prepares quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules for the College’s Foundation. Reviews the College’s financial statements and recommends changes.
Performs grant accounting and reporting, including preparing budget requests and submitting invoices for grants. Coordinates accounting operations for the College and Foundation. Develops and maintains spreadsheet analyses such as expenditure allocations and fund budgets to support Foundation operations. Posts capitalization entries for capital projects. Innovates, develops and implements processes to improve efficiencies within department.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree
Three (3) years of accounting experience, including reviewing and preparing financial statements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS CPA licensure or actively working towards CPA licensure
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Demonstrated understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and their application, as well as familiarity with applicable federal and state laws. Thorough knowledge of fund accounting and financial statement preparation. Ability to interpret and apply relevant College and, Tennessee Board of Regents policies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex accounting errors. Excellent attention to detail, with proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with various stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, this paid Intern will assist with accounting and finance projects within the Service Center. This position may have the opportunity to work remote within the state of Tennessee but with periodic visits to the TBR System Office (Nashville, TN) at the employee's expense.
Job Duties

POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in Accounting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Maintain and submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check College email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Accounting; OR
Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting Topics and a current CPA license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Documented experience teaching at the college level.
